How good are the 360's AAA exclusives really?

Forza 2 pretty much set the standard for driving sims this generation and Halo 3 (regardless of your opinion) is a feature rich FPS with a fantastic community and it is part of a well known series.

But Perfect Dark Zero is a terrible FPS that benefited heavily from being a launch game. GRAW is yet another samey Tom Clancy shooter that benefitted from being the first of its kind this generation and ushering in a new era.

The true strength of the 360 comes with its console exclusive games AND exclusive games. Games like Gears of War, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 2 etc are just as important as the likes of Halo 3. In terms of just AAA exclusives it really isn't very impressive

Dead Rising is on my short list.

Besides, in the real world not SW, if things like letting Gears, Halo and Fable going to the PC hurt the 360 at all MS would not let it happen.

It is a great month not to be a fanboy. NG2 and MGS4 (mgs is kicking ass I am not finised yet, though. So I do not have a proper opinion yet) in the same month and it is making for an awesome month.

The real question is: if you had *one* gaming platform to chose from, which would you rather have, the 360 or PS3?

Same. Although, MGS4 is just awesome. But the 360 has to many good to great games and that is where I get my multi-plat love.

MG saved the ps3 in my eyes. I would never suggest someone purchase it just for that but I would say that it is good enough to warrant a purchase just for that one game for me personally. I just already owned one at the time. Good thing, too. I would not be playing it now if I had not.

I have a decent PC so I really see no need for a 360, and I don't see that turning around any time soon. PC+PS3 = Win.

Remember the AA exclusives. Dead Rising, Eternal Sonata, Viva Pinata and Kameo are all awesome. And even A exclusives, Crackdown and Lost Odyssey, are freaking cool.

It can't be on two platforms and exclusive... and Bioshock isn't even going to be "console" exclusive much longer either...

Console exclusive doesn't exist... like it's a thing fanboys do when they need to make their argument better...

Actually, in the real world it is the other way around...the SW definition of exclusive is irrelevant to the buying decision of the large majority of console owners...who typically do not evaluate their purchase decision vs PC.

The SW definition is really only valid for hermits first, who also own a console; whereas the majority of console owners do not PC game.

I happen to own all 3 consoles, but I don't PC game....which is the key point....the I don't PC game, part. There are many like me who own 1, 2, or 3 consoles and are not interested in PC gaming. Ergo, what is available on PC is entirely irrelevant to me and does not/did not influence any gaming decision be it h/w or s/w for a good 10 yrs now.

Now, I know those aren't the rules of SWs and I certainly can live with that. And I bear no ill will to the hermits, there is room for them to have fun too. But at the end of the day, I can play Gears on my 360 but not my PS3 and vice versa with MGS4 or SMG.....and that is what matters most and will drive the large part of the sales revenue for the consoles. Not hypothetical purchases/arguments about true SW exclusives which matters not to most people.

I'd say its a mixture of both TBH. Halo 3 and Forza 2 alone aren't that impressive but factor in Geow, Bioshock, COD 2 etc and that all changes

What about Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Devil May Cry, Culdcept Saga? Even next week comes Operation Darkness, an exclusive to the 360. All of these are Japanese creations. None of these games are coming to a PC near you, to my knowledge.

I think one reason people like consoles is that they want to play a game in front of their TV sets as opposed to playing from their desk. It all depends on where you want to put your money. On the one hand, you can put it in your living room with an HD TV & high-end audio system. On the other hand, you can spruce up your gaming PC & leave the living room gathering dust. You could improve both but then you'll feel like you're not getting your money's worth as you bob around from living room to PC room all the time. Connecting the PC to your TV/Stereo system is kind of a hassle as well..have to go out & buy more stuff for it.

Yeah with the way that PS3 stacks up head to head with the 360 that sort of hide behind the PC approach is the only real way to sell the PS3 to gamers.

Forza 2 pretty much set the standard for driving sims this generation and Halo 3 (regardless of your opinion) is a feature rich FPS with a fantastic community and it is part of a well known series.

Unless you want to play dead rising, or ninja gaiden 2, or up coming banjo 3 games. Not only that, (i also have a good pc) but games like gears, biochock, and mass effect were timed exclusives to the 360 for about a year for the most part, so on the pc you get a full year delay.

For me 360 + pc + wii = all i need for gaming life to it's fullest.

I think Gears is amazing.. however, Halo is completely overrated. Linear FPS with a typical sci fi storyline (dont even argue this) HOWEVER, its still a FUN game but it does not deserve its score. Mass Effect should have gotten Halo's score. W

Motorstorm is a great title. It didn't manage to achieve even AA in gamespot because they reviewed it with a bunch of flaws that the first update took care off. When you update Motorstorm, it is indeed one of the best driving games this gen, honestly. The second title could very well be an high AA, low AAA title, i don't see why not.

Lair is a different case, nobody never even tried to save this game. Haze didn't even have any reason to be hyped, only crazy cows hyped this one.

But Tekken 6, White Knight Chronicles, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Infamous, Socom, Motorstorm 2 and even Killzone 2 are games with everything in their favour to achieve great scores over the midia.

If DR didn't have that idiotic save system I would agree. It was awesome.

I liked it, am I the only one? It kept tension in the game and meant you couldn't save every 2 mins, I honestly never had a problem with it.

Remember the AA exclusives. Dead Rising, Eternal Sonata, Viva Pinata and Kameo are all awesome. And even A exclusives, Crackdown and Lost Odyssey, are freaking cool.locopatho

yeah but systemwars only play AAA and beyond and acording to your logic RaCfuture for the ps3 is also an A game that is good. Doesn't it bother you how jaded gamers have become, I know games nowdays are expencive and all but still wow

The real question is: if you had *one* gaming platform to chose from, which would you rather have, the 360 or PS3?

PS3 I think it has better exlusives
