How has no one figured out Microsoft's strategy yet?

Let's look at the Xbox's history.

Every single time, Microsoft pays for exclusivity for the first 2 years and leaves the console to rot with their annual halo, gears, forza releases.

Why?

Because Microsoft only cares about money. Developing more exclusives takes money and Microsoft doesn't want to do that.

Sure, Microsoft may have slightly inferior exclusives than SONY in the first 2 years, but don't fall for it. This is just an attempt to garner initial sales velocity so they can snowball the rest of the generation.

The 2016 Xbone exclusive lineup is no accident. Microsoft though the Xbone would sell 200 million units by now and would stomp the PS4, so they invested nothing for 2016 and beyond. Do you feel happy, lemmings? I bet you feel betrayed, but this has been happening for 3 times already. How can you fall for it again? It's like you don't want exclusives/

For the sake of gaming, don't fall for Microsoft's dirty tricks.

Everything Microsoft does is for money...

Everything Nintendo does is for money.....

I think Microsoft will just buy another studio like they did Minecraft. Microsoft is still big in America, i think theyre only 2 million consoles behind. But they need to buy a Studio that will make dudebros go crazy, they need to buy 2K or something.

Great OP and hopefully it opens an honest discussion on how MS can improve after messing up so bad at reveal and launch. Getting rid of Don and dropping Kinect is a great start.

Microsoft ' strategy is they buy momentary favoritism in hopes it flourishes into results in their favor. Nothing wrong with that. The big three do it. However their problem is they can't tell when they have a good thing and build on it and pursue it. Instead they'll look at a failure as a sign the market doesn't want what they have and leave it at that. Th ey also have plenty of opportunity to build competent first party studios with third parties that can be acquired, and just don't. And, seeming problems with those they do acquire is they treat it like a sign they're funded for good and don't put in the effort after that. They need a better system to both recruit studios, projects, and keep them honest and everything on track.

Yes its all about money but not all companies are the same.

Would MS or Nintendo support their products IF they had billions of losses per year , every year , for the last 10 years like SONY did/does , specially when things were nasty with PS3 ? Hell , even VITA that considered an epic failure by most has double the amount of Wii U games when NINTENDO let Wii U , let alone Wii which was super profitable , in a serious life support so early while MS bringing otherwise AAA caliber exclusives/time exclusives to PC because X1 isnt selling as good as they were expecting ( SONY could do the same for games like KILLZONE or GT in PS3 era ).

Anyways , yes i agree ... its all about money but not everyone is the same.
