Being that my favorite genre is the RPG, I find myself catching up on alot of games I missed on the PS2. Rogue Galaxy turned out to be a really good game and now my attention is on Digital Devil Saga. I find it kind of funny that I had more fun playing these games than any RPG that was released this gen. I guess my only complaint would be the graphics are a little out dated, but that problem was solve with my Asus G74. The Games look beautiful at a higher resolution, some could even pass for an early game of this gen and most I found at bargin ben prices.

Summer would be the perfect time for developers to release role playing games. There is no competition and a really good RPG could last you for most of the summer.

What do you guys think?

I have a pretty big backlog, so I have more than enough to keep me busy over the summer.

Steam Summer sale combined with the PSN+ and Welcome Back package. Nothing like cheap co-op Rainbow Six Vegas with PS3 buddies before some cheap co-op Left 4 Dead 2 with PC buddies.

I got Dead Rising 2 at the begining of the month and I just got Final Fantasy 13. I'll be replaying Wind Waker, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid Prime 3 once I finish FF 13.

Lots of water, staying in the shade and doing my best to get my work done before the afternoon. Watering the yard when I'm allowed to by the city and hoping we dont have a massive power grid failure.

Oh wait, you mean game drought. I'm in Texas and I'm nearly fried after having a job thats half outside work. I'm just playing the games I couldnt get to in the rest of the year. And my wife has all of a sudden got into playing Halo reach, she's never played a shooter before but now shes bugging me to play it all the time. I'm starting to completely despise the Forge maps though.

Are we talking the Wii here? Or are you suggesting that the PS3 and 360 are sharing in the drought as well, because I got sand blasted for even mention that.

Retro games and downloadable titles from XBLA and PSN. Right now I'm replaying the Donkey Kong Country series. Under Siege on PSN has been keeping me busy with its lengthy campaign and a bit of Doom 2 on XBLA as well.

Comparing it to the other Mana games I had played before (Sword of Mana, Legend of Mana, Children of Mana), it just didn't hold up. The combat was dull and tilted to the enemies' favor, and magic (while powerful) became really hard to exploit by the end of the game (when practically every enemy started casting Wall aka Reflect). The one good point in its favor was that multiplayer was still fun, but the experience left a sour taste in my mouth.

I've been catching up on my backlog, started a new game in Fallout: New Vegas, and bought F.E.A.R. 3 on an impulse buy. Relatively under the radar, but I think it's pretty great. Especially the online, ****ing Run is an awesome game mode.

For me, it depends on the mode I'm playing. On normal, everyone on my team casually chats and plays around , while destroying every zombie without getting hit. Then Expert hits, and people talk to each other like they're the devil. I still can't beat expert mode due to the fact that people will argue over the stupidest complaints. Just because he used a shotgun agaisnt a hunter, you had to kill him with a pimp bomb?

But its worst on the 360. If I even choose Nick or Ellis to play as, I'm kicked.

I could be convinced of its merits on its own terms... but I still think it should hold up even against these other games. I can point out other franchises where the older games hold up better than the newer ones. Plus, when a game becomes more of a chore than having fun, especially when playing with someone, it has a problem.

Infamous 2 i beat in just a few days, I soon grew tired of LA Noire, MK, and Brink. I'm still chugging alog with Portal2, taking breaks when I find my self stuck. Catherine seems to me like I'd enjoy it more at the price of 20-30. Most gamers use the summer to catch up on their back catalog cause we all know the big games start rolling out around Nov hence me using the word drought. By the way, you didn't even say what you were playing.

Theif gold, theif 2 , theif 3, deus ex , got 1000's of fan missions to go through in the theif series. Fallout 1, homm3, the witcher 1. I flip flop on a lot of games but mainly playing thief and deus ex over again after not playing in 10 years! Some of, if not the he's games ever made! Also been playing tactics ogre psp, was about to beat parasite eve the 3rd birthday until accidentally left my psp on my truck's roof before driving to work in the morning. Wish I bought the game digitally! Now I am put of that killer game, he save and that psp with ita 16gb mem stick. Had to buy a new psp but don't have the dough for a new game. PC at home, psp at work, ps3 lately only with the kids with lbp2 or burnout paradise.

Catching up on my backlog (Bioshock which I NEED to finish this week, Fallout New Vegas, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood) and then tons of Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer.
