[QUOTE="Udsen"][QUOTE="Erkidu"][QUOTE="Udsen"][QUOTE="beast667"][QUOTE="Udsen"]PS3 is no more expensive than 360, for the features you get. Quite sad seeing people say 360 is cheaper.Erkidu
you must be terrible at math. how is $279.99>$399.99?Okay. Valid arguement. But, for the same features, let's humour this pathetic attempt at a personal attack.
PS3 comes with Blu-ray built in and wireless internet, not to mention a hard drive.
360
Arcade System - $279.99
Xbox Live subscription - $49.99
HD-DVD Drive Add-on - $129.99
20 GB HDD - $129 CDN (100 American?)
Wireless Network Adaptor - $100
$659.97
PS3
40 GB SKU - $399.99
PSN Account - $0.00
Blu-ray Drive Built in - $0.00
Wireless internet Built in - $0.00
40 GB HDD - $0.00
HDMI Cable - $79.99 Link As you can see, I picked a MIDDLE model HDMI cable, not even the cheapest.
$479.99
You were saying?
Take off the HD-DVD add-on, and I'll agree with you. I couldn't care less about HD movie formats - and neither could 80% of the civilized population.I am talking in terms of getting the same features.
But, I'll humour you as well.
659.97 - 129.99 = 529.98.
529.98 (price of 360 WITHOUT add on) - 479.99 (PS3 with blu ray and a pretty expensive HDMI cable) =...
49.99.
Even with no HD-DVD player and EVEN going as far as adding an 80 dollar HDMI cable, You're still paying 50 bones for the 360 Arcade.
I know you were talking in terms of the same features... However, if a consumer is not interested in HD formats - that could sway their decision. Most consumers don't look at an electronic and think "does this have features that make it more valuable?". Most look at the pricetags alone to make their decision. I'm not saying that this is a good thing - just that it's the way things are.Oh, don't worry, I know. I work at Future Shop (best buy), and I sell both consoles to regular consumers.
But since we're in system wars I'm talking to hardcore gamers (We're on a gaming forum debating PRICE differences.. :P), and rightfully the audience in which I'm speaking with should take that into effect.
