Can you bring some proof? List or something.
SakusEnvoy
It's here.
That list is a bit deceiving, though.* Crysis - is exclusive, but Crysis Warhead is a "standalone expansion". (Crysis 2 is coming to consoles.)
* World in Conflict - exclusive.
* Sins of a Solar Empire - exclusive.
* GTR 2 - exclusive. (2006)
* Company of Heroes - exclusive. (2006)
* Galactic Civilizations II - exclusive. (2006)
- The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Dark Avatar and Twilight of the Arnor are expansion packs.
- The Sims 3 is confirmed for consoles.
That leaves 6 exclusive games, and one standalone expansion. About par with the other systems, but that half of those games came out in 2006 is cause for concern. Nonetheless, strategy games will probably always have a stronghold on PC even as it loses exclusivity in other genres.
Even outside of strategy games, the PC still holds a stranglehold on many other Genre. A grognard like me can find NOTHING on consoles to satisfy the war lust. Grognard games are all about gameplay, the graphics just keep things organized.
Also, the PC absolutely rules the roost when it comes to Sims of any variety. Sure, you have flying games on the console, but can you adjust your air/fuel mix? Can you turn on and off your landing lights? Can you drop your flaps? Can you trim your rudder? Do you even HAVE a rudder? No, you do not, because all flight games on the console are NOT SIMS, they're GAMES.
Same for tank sims, sub sims, ship sims, train sims, space sims, and so on. See, in a GAME you're simply controlling the aircraft/sub whatever and it's figuring out all the hard stuff for you (like how much rudder to make an effective turn instead of slip-steaming). In a SIM, NOTHING happens witout you doing it. Engine sputtering? Maybe you're running your fuel too rich for such an altitude...put more air into the mix. Engine stuggling? Tap the magnetoes up one step. Need to make a crash landing? Dump that fuel out first.
Keep in mind that the vast majority of PC games never get mentioned or reviewed at GS. For instance, how many of these PC games have you heard of?
the elitest attitude I see everyday on here or in the games has made me dislike pc gaming more then I probley should.Advid-GamerIf that is getting in your way of enjoying what a platform has to offer, then call your sensitivity to question.
The best exclusives, value, and video game of this generation, however, are on the PlayStation 3. stiggy321
I bought a new, huge HDTV and was looking at PS3s because I need to pick up a BluRay player and I was thinking 'What the hell, it plays games, too.' But after a week of going through the PS3 catalog here on GS I can't find one single PS3 game that interests me.
I'm not saying PS3 games are bad, they just aren't my taste. When I DID have consoles, like back in the 8-and-16-bit era, most of the games I bought were KOEI games. You know, like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Pacific Theater of Operations, and so on. Strategy games.
I won't play FPS with a controller, I just won't. Not interested in ninjas, dudes with big ass swords, cars, sports, fighting games or buxom babes. That's what...97% of console games?
Just not my taste. I'll probably just pick up a BluRay player and be done with it.
PC gaming is better than console gaming because it is more expensive... even if it's only 300 dollars more, it's still more money. The best exclusives, value, and video game of this generation, however, are on the PlayStation 3. ROFL I feel sorry for anyone who actually plays BC 2 on a console. So sad.stiggy321
its not all bad its still a very enjoyable game.Just the kiddo's on the consoles love to camp and be utter pillocks and not help the team.Have had a lot of good matches where people work together as squads and just absolutely annihilate the other team who sits in bushes and spams tank fire.
The only dislike i have for it really is balance issues need dealt with ASAP especially the M60 on the PS3 anyway its been said that thing needs a super nerf. Also the fact the game is extremely blurry on SDTV's i have the joy of plying on one till argos get off their ass and repair my goddamn tv.
There are still alot of PC exclusives, but whenever people list them they always seem to be like total war or civilization games or whatever. But i just think that there isnt much variety in terms of pc exclusives or as much as there should be atleast. Sure there are lots of multiplats, but when its pretty much always the best version, with exceptions then hey who cares. The only reason im not interested in pc gaming though is because im really not into the types of games it offers, and that even if I did have a monster gaming pc I think I would still buy my multiplats on my 360 so I could play with my friends.
Dude we know you love your consoles. We understand that. Now you should start letting go of your insecurity issues...you enjoy gaming a lot more that way. Sure. you are right that we do and still think consoles are noob systems but hey, who cares what other folks think right? :) You must be very young. You'll learn in time that half the time, the things people say in SW does not really apply, they are just there to flame.I have had a gaming rig for a little over a year now, Pc kills the consoles in graphics but other then that is faiilng way behind in terms of games that pc gamers on here act like the pc so many more of. They rattle off old *** games as the greatest games ever made or medicore to average exclusives as the best games ever just to make there platform seem superior to consoles. If Pc gaming is so superior, why are 95% of my pc games multiplait? Why do great multiplait games not get released at the same time or at all on Pc sometimes? Where is SSF4 on pc? It hasent even been announced and may never will be, due to the fact that they dont think it is even worth porting becaues of piracy. The elitest attitude that Some PC gamers have in general is what is killing pc gaming, They think they are to good to pay for DLC, or have games prices increased like everyone, else because in this day and age making games cost more money. The PC is not the first game system that comes to mind of developers whan making a new game. THis gen reguardless of what the horde of pc gamers will post, consoles have had the better must play exclusives, wait thats right pc dosent have a gen so they will bring lists from the last 15 yrs or so, because thats fair there AAA ans AA will just always get larger as consoles reset every gen:roll:. If pc gaming was so superior games like ssf4 and other multiplats would be released at the same time.

See, we've already had our weapon balance update. M60 is no longer godly, and I thank them for it. ;)I could never see myself giving up PC gaming and going to the consoles for many reasons.
The main reasons are consoles have never given me the diversity that PC games give me with simulators and RTS games.
But the main reason is the way that console owners are treated and the XBOX360 proves that.
People have bought into a console with hardware failures that have never been fixed, DLC that should be included with the game on release and so many other reasons.
Buying a XBOX360 knowing these things sends out the signal that if it has games you will put up with these faults.
If PC gaming stops tomorrow I would still support it due to the fact that there are still hundreds of games still waiting to be modded and played.
I have played half life 2 5 times and I still play it due to higher resolutions, better texture packs and total mods like the fakefactory cinematic mod 10 which makes the game look better than and xbox 360 game out there and this is a game that is years old.

The PC has no variety, its got a bunch of RTS's, expansions to old games, and Crysis. Oh yeah, and the Sims 3 which I bought and IMO its no better than Sims 2, especially since SIms 2 had free furniture. I think I accounted for everything on that list.
You forgot MMO, Flight Sims, racing sims, RPG, Soccer, Adventure, FPS, management games, city builders, politcal games, etc. All from that list. Methinks thou dost protest too much.
I was talking about AAA exclusives...
I'm a hardcore PC gamer, but I will admit PC hasn't released anything in a while.
But we owned for years while consoles were going through their dry spell from '05-08, and we will own again once Diablo 3 comes out. PC > all now and forever.

PC has 12 AAA exclusives:
2 FPS
3 RTS
3 TBS
2 MMO
1 Sim
1 Racer t
that's 6 genres
Xbox 360 has 7 AAA games:
2 Racers
2 TPS
3 FPS
that's 3 genres
now the PS3
8 AAAE games:
4 Action Adventure
1 RPG
1 Platformer
2 FPS
That's 4 genres
Wii has 4 AAAE games:
1 Fighter
1 Platformer
1 Party
1 Beat' em up
How´s that for variety?
Edit: Oh,and if we go with all the A and AA,the difference is gigantic...

Yeah, people just don't want to see what they don't want to see.
The thing that really makes PC gaming great, besides the most and highest rated exclusives, is the freedom to do what you want.
Ie mods.
Deus Ex in Direct X 10 with Hi res textures over three monitors is fantastic. That is a 10 year old game. Name one console game that is 10 years old that is even played by more than a few hundred people over then entire planet, let alone actually supported.
On the topic of support, one hundred and ninteen.
Games on consoles life span are laughable compared to PC.
"falling behind"
PC gaming is not falling behind, it just don't want to fall for the same trap as console gaming has.
I can agree that the big publishers (Ubisoft, Activision) are starting to treat PC gaming like dirt. At the same time though publishers like Capcom and SquareEnix are getting more and more involved with PC gaming with fantastic games.
It has also helped smaller developers like Crytek, GSC Game world and Telltale to get more exposure.
because you obviously should never have been a pcgamer. People like you expect PCgaming to be just console gaming with better graphics. When was the last time you played a real adventure game? City builder?Simulator? 4X? Did you try Black Shark? One of finest games last year. Or Distant Worlds? THE sleeper hit this year, a small newbie company has created something that matches to the very best the genre ever hadIf Pc gaming is so superior, why are 95% of my pc games multiplait? Advid-Gamer
But nope...you only care about console-like titles, you just want your action games. It's nothing bad itself, it just means pcgaming isn't for you.
I personaly am enjoying the current situation. 5-8 years ago it was horrible...aside from RTSes and FPSes bassicaly every pc genre was dead. Now when FPS devs moved to consoles all those genres and subgenres that used to define PCgaming in 80s and early 90s got ressurected.
Are they really? Activision I could undersand, but Ubisoft? Sure, their multiplats are console-centric, but at the same time PC is the only platform they actualy regularly develop big bugdeted exclusives for. So it's far from as one sided as you put it

Currently 203 hours in BC 2 (PC) and rising. Last time I turn on my PS3 was to try the BC 2 PS3 beta three months ago, and the graphics and controls in console was a crap. Las time I turn on my 360 was last year. I'm aiming to buy another 5-6 games this year (Lost Planet 2, Starcraft II, Arrowhead, BRINK, Crysis 2, Rage), no one in consoles. I'm even more attracted to play Lost Planet 2 in PC, this alone saids a lot.
I'm pretty sure I've seen TC trolling the PC MW2 boards before.... apparently he prefers playing FPS games on the PS3 :\ point and case.
They think they are to good to pay for DLC, or have games prices increased like everyone, else because in this day and age making games cost more money. The PC is not the first game system that comes to mind of developers whan making a new game.Advid-GamerYou do realize that Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo get around $12 licensing fee to be on the platform right? You do realize that before consoles had any online games to speak of that PC was getting free content and that priced DLC only caught on because of consoles right?
Games don't cost more, they just wanna make more money. If it's a good game, it'll make profit. If it's a bad game then it probably shouldn't make profit.
If pc gaming was so superior games like ssf4 and other multiplats would be released at the same time.Advid-GamerI'm sure by now others have posted quite a few multiplats. The fact that you posted SSFIV is kinda a bad example on your part. Let's not forget SFIV mods which gives things consoles won't see.

You're free to go back to consoles. No one's stopping you. If the games you like aren't on a platform then switch. That's what I'd do. Personally for me, it's not worth my time trying to convince others otherwise. If I decide to move to consoles, I'd just do it and be done with it without trying to ruin somebody's fun. I didn't shed much of a tear when I moved from Amiga to PC gaming. If it's time to move again (PC to console), so be it.
In the meantime, I make the best of the platform I'm in which is the PC right now. It has the games with the options I like.

We may disagree with how UBIsoft are reacting with its new DRM measures but can they be wholly blamed? If at all? The sad reality is that piracy is an epidemic. You only have to take a look at the available torrents to see how bad it is. Frankly, no one knows how to tackle this. The only guy who seem to hit the soft spot with encouraging gamers to buy games are Steam and the like.

Valves love for TF2 is aweinspiring. :P
well, this generation alone the pc has more high scoring exclusives than all three consoles combined.
I don't think that it is, it is doing very well actually.Heil68Yea man, PC is getting the exclusives with the highest budget, The Old Republic and APB (Announced for 360 but will never happen).
Since you're banging on the PC gaming is dying gibberish, why not try banging on such other gibberish such as 'the world is flat' or 'the sky is falling'?

Face it. PC gaming will never die. Consoles die. PS1 died. N64 died. Gamecube died. Dreamcast died. Xbox died. PS2 is about to die. PC is still alive. SilverChimerawell, to be honest, that's just kind of the nature of PC/console gaming. with PC, you can upgrade the technology. consoles, not so much. but yes, i agree, PC gaming won't die. i think both are actually very important to the existence of each other.

Renting games and places like Gamestop that sell used games have more detrimental effect on consolesthen piracy on Pc. And dont exclude consoles out of the piracy relm. because they get pirated just as fast and as much as Pc games, look at MW2 was out a month before release for 360 and downloaded millions of times.
1. Pc has more AA and AAA games and more genre's since xbox360 launch
2. Excluding backwards compatibility that a Pc one way or another ( emulation, community patches ) can run any game released for it going back to 80's for the sake of system wars is one of the most stupid thinks i have ever heard. A platform that gives me the choice to play Blood, Outcast , Monkey island, Fallout and other great ****cs thanks to services like G.O.G ( good old games) and steam is a huge plus for that platform
3.Mods mods mods imp the biggest advantage of pc gaming ( for instance someone made a mario cart racing game using the starcraft beta editor , or the graphics overhaul and bug fixing of Stalker thanks to Stalker Complete or even zombie panic for Half life 2 or the about 1000 free maps of Crysis the community created )
4.Cheaper games and if you are in wurope like me usually the difference is 20euros which is about $25
5. Games like Street fighter 4 and Dead rising are from devs that before were developing only for consoles yet now they release their games on PC ( Dead rising 2 is coming on pc ). So you see pc games like sims go to consoles ( BTW sims2 also was on consoles ) but also the other way around is also happening ( multiplatform feature )
6.Ati sold 6million Dx11 cards in 6 months so that puts the whole pc is dying to rest ( and thats only dx11 cards and excludes cards like the 48xx and 46xx series and Nvidia cards which still has a bigger market share )
