It won't, I doubt there will be many people actually skipping work (as opposed to trading shifts/taking a vacation day) and no one really cares if you cut class except your parents.
Why would you, its a just a game. Its not like september 25th is the ONLY day to play the game and then its gone forever. Dont get me wrong I will buy halo 3 but im not one of the halo fanboys that say its the number 1 game ever and it has better graphics than crysis, they are just idiots.

I've got an interesting concept for you - it's called keeping your employees happy. Who cares why they want to take time off, as long as they get their work done on time? As long as they book it a couple weeks ahead of time, are all caught up, and don't have any major projects where the critical chain passes through them, then why not let them take the day off to do whatever they want?
Anyway, I've got a road trip that weekend, so no Haloday for me.
In the past, Dragon Quest games have been banned from release in Japan on any weekday, because thousands of kids skip out just to buy it. However, I don't think Halo 3 will have such a large impact. America is still not as big on gaming as Japan.
