Maybe when the prices come down a bit more and when there are more channels available in HD.
Then again, one of my TVs still uses rabbit ears, so maybe never. :(

I just got an Olevia 32 inch tv at target yesterday for 599.. its actually a great tv.. i was expecting less but it amazed me.. only negative thing about it is the sound.. so then i just hooked up my surround sound and im good.
I have one, but only because the electric company screwed up and fried my old TV (and a few other appliances). Bought one with the insurance settlement.
HDTVs are great for movies and TV, but over-rated for gaming. The only real plus to HD gaming is the 16:9 aspect ratio.
I use a 19" widescreen monitor.GoodkupoBan
yeah thats what i was going to do until i found out that my monitor doesnt have HDCP
I got one last year, and after playing in HD I cant go back. It's funny to see the huge differences of the same game on an HDTV and a tube tv.
no and i dont plan on getting one i find them a huge waste of money i just want to play the gamesolidsnakeoi didnt know hdtvs prevent you from playing videogames.
No I don't have one. I'm still playing on a 15 inch standard definition tv.:(
I'll probably be getting a 20 inch hdtv next month though.
Having played the 360 on a SDTV until I recently bought a Philips 42" LCD flat panel HDTV 1080p, I can honestly say there is a HUGE difference.
In some cases, I can even see people better from farther away in multiplayer FPS.
People that say HDTV is a waste of money, and there's not much difference either haven't actually seen an HDTV, orthey're just upset that they can't get one.
Playing my 360 on a 37" Phillips Ceneos HDTV (1080i).
It's awesome, but not for my Wii... I play my Wii on a JVC widescreen SDTV.
Don't have problems when switching from playing consoles, however... my 360 looks HORRIBLE on the JVC and my Wii looks horrible on the Phillips. :P
Besides my PC, the Wii is my only home console and since it is only 480p I haven't been real compelled to get one yet (when I had my 360 I played on my PC monitor). I'm actually more interested in the OLED technology that is coming out real soon. With a good scaler chip I bet SD content could look better on one of those sets then it does on an SDTV, unlike most HDTV's now where SD Content doesn't look too hot. Zerostatic0
yes, OLED technology looks really cool because of the very thin screen. But are you sure it comes out soon? Maybe in japan, because they always seem to getnew technology first for some reason:?
From experience, does anyone know which is better (if there is much of a difference)for HD- LCD or Plasma?

For Gaming purposes, LCD is a better choice. Plasma screens have a tendency to "burn in" images into their screens if something is in the same spot for too long, and since many games use a Heads Up Display of some sort that ALWAYS show in the same spot of your screen, It might cause some burning in to a Plasma screen.
Anyway, HD gaming is fantastic if you have a PS3 or 360, there is just so much mroe detail that you wouldn't see in SD.
