Personally i'm better off enjoying my PC games on my desktop PC, i won't be upgrading to steambox. Better i upgrade my rig and invest in upcoming consoles.
What about you?
How many of you interested in steambox?

if the steambox is for pc games, why would i buy it when i would most likely need a keyboard/mouse to play the game (a rts for example) and therefore wont be able to play it on the couch, and would need a computer/laptop.campzorThe Steambox is going to have its own controller. Having said that, I'm not interested in the slightest. I'll stick with my PC, thanks.
Well, Im interrested to see what it is, and what they wanted it to be. But I would never buy one no.
I have this strange Idea that the Steambox (or rather its sucessor) will end up being the only console the gen after the next (and likely the last of them). Where hardware manufactors build some console, and both MS and Sony will have transferred thier gaming to "services" which will liekly end up on that kind of hardware. Nintendo will still cling to thier hardware for a while longer.
Only a prediction, but when we hear how expensive it is to make the hardware, how much they are going to push non physical "services" I suspect that we really will see that one anomonous hardware console, and the services.
Since that is NOT really what we want, it will likely also be the last physical consoles we get. This IS a money game afterall especially for console makers.
So I am interrested in it for what it can possible do to the future of consoles, but the steambox in itself? naah, not really. My love for consoles vained a whole lot when they tryied to imitate PC's too much (and since nearly every man on earth have a PC, why then bother?)
IF it's just going me semi like a pc. Then zero because i just use my current rig.
IF theres going be something special that hasn't been done on a pc yet then i may be interested,
BUT ANYONE WHO DOESN'T OWN A RIG should be interested IMO
Zero, the only reason some people even care about this is because of who is behind itfueled-system
Not really.
I'm interested in any useful functionality it might have. If I cna use it as a way to stream my games ot my TV, AND it can handle media center stuff (maybe by installign windows 8 on it), then I'll p[ick one up and sell/give away my current Home Theater PC.
I have no interest in it at all. I'll be surprised if hermits care that much about it when they already have their own awesome PC's in front of them. It'll be like "The Phantom" with STEAM running on it. Because this is STEAM based, I'm sure it's aimed at PC gamers more then consoles gamers. Good luck with that Valve. We'll see just how dedicated your fanbase is to your company and hardware. blackaceIt's aimed more for console gamers than PC gamers. If I had no interest in PC gaming I would get one.

Console gamers could care less about STEAM. They care more about console exclusives. Most console gamers who do care about STEAM already have a capable PC to play games off of STEAM. You can see by the comments in this thread that both PC and Console gamers won't be buying one of these anytime soon. I wonder if Valve even researched gamers on this before even starting the concept?

Little to no interest in PC gaming, they should rename it to flopbox.
Newhopes
I think PC gamers will want a steambox more than they think. I have a good desktop PC in my room which will max anything. But i have over 200 steam games and i wouldn't mind playing some of those downstairs on my HDTV sometime.
I wouldn't pick up a steambox right away but somehwhere down the line i would.
