I was in Gamestop a few weeks ago and I noticed something, a husband and wife came in to figure out what to do with their broken 360, The manager insisted them on buying a new 360 when they had only got the machine less than a year before (i over heard the convo and wanted to but in because the manager was being a crook) But then I saw it again here, and as it probably was more a joke then anything the person said 360 might be selling more due to people having to buy a new console. Now I for one HAVE had to due it, I got the DRE after 2 years and MS wanted 200 bones to fix it, so I said what the heck I might as well buy a new one, now out of curiousity has anyone had to buy a new 360 due to being out of warranty and there old one breaking down?Animal-MotherDRE try installing the game and see if you can play it. Also why is it $200. It should be no more than $100.

I've said the same thing since day 1. I have a friend that brought 3 of them, he said when he gets his house he wants one in every room. 2 of my friend brought a total of 5 for different reasons. I had one go up on me, so when I got it back I traded it in for a PS3, I'm not willing to deal with problem or buy another garbage system. I'm sure people are out there re-buying 360's.
Sure people will bring up the PS2, but the PS2 has been fixed and it still selling.

yeah I mean if my 360 Dies again, i think im through seeing im old enough and dont need to play many games for much longerI dont think any system is worth the hassle, maybe if it was a random issue, but the 360 are not having random issues. It's a point where people will say F that and buy something else.
im on my 4th! 360 and not paid a penny/cent for repairs.
if i ever had to pay for repairs think its £80 or so for uk peeps...i have no idea what id do but would prob just get a elite instead and sell the console in cash generator haha

And how long did it take PS2 and was it free of charge?I've had the same 360 for almost a year and a half but I'm looking to upgrade to an elite soon. I don't have an hdmi port on my 360 and I'd like to have the larger harddrive to install all of my games. El-VisitanteSo would you say early adopters were really screwed?

How do you expect them to fix a GENERAL hardware failure problem? Where pretty much ANY hardware failure will cause this error code to come up?[QUOTE="El-Visitante"]I've had the same 360 for almost a year and a half but I'm looking to upgrade to an elite soon. I had to buy a new arcade system when my first 360 stated giving out. It was out of warranty on both the RROD and basic repair, so I upgraded to a new one, and sold it before it completely pooped on me. Didn't really want to get a new one, but oh well.yokofox33So it lasted 3 years and just recently died?

No, My tv only did 720p so I didn't really need hdmi, but with my new tv, i want to have the best resolution with the best connection.
