buy Microsoft exclusive games Like: L4D, Mass effect, Splinter Cell ect..?

From what I've seen a lot of them do. But they also want Mass Effect 2 to go to PS3, which doesn't make sense.Next-Gen-TecI've played and finished ME1 on the Xbox 360 when I owned the consoles, now I'd like to play ME2 since it's one of the greatest game this gen. But since I dont have either a gaming rig og an Xbox 360 I'll be missing ME2 =/ that's why I would like ME2 to come for the PS3. However I can see your point, why play a game when you havent played the first one?
I do and it is one of the main reasons i do not own a 360 :) Secret tho.... SHHHHHH Im such a damn Nerd lol anyhow, i play my mates 360 WAY MORE and for way longer than i have ever played my PS3!!!! I am an old school Split screen social player :) as well as a huge PC gamer. The PS3 i own is for general good console game play. I see nothing wrong with buying games like Mass Effect L4D for the PC instead of the 360, i owned this PC before i owned my 360. When i realized that a lot of 360 games would be on my PC as well i exchanged it for a PS3.buy Microsoft exclusive games Like: L4D, Mass effect, Splinter Cell ect..?

I own a gaming rig, was a hermit until GTA4/MGS4 came out last year(well since ps1 days anyway).... and Now I own all the consoles except xbox and 360... I have PS2, PS3, Wii (included GC), PSPslim, DSlite, and core 2 duo 8800gts gaming rig. Although my ps3 gets the most use for gaming anymore. I will never buy an xbox, i just don't agree with how ms does gaming! Massive milkage, rip-off accessories, lack of options, rrod , e-74, disk read errors, and the biggest gripe...PAy to play online and ads...no thanks. Plus i can't stand Halo! As i have both on my pc and they are average at best. But to each there own. I won't deny that both PS3 and 360 share a lot of grat multiplats.Midnightshade29Yeah I was a PS1 PS2 gamer back in the day. But got an Xbox 360 this gen because of halo 3 and oblivion [ at the time oblivion was 360 only ] I've only had two 360 die Both from rrod but both were fixed for free for some time. After my 2nd 360 died I got a jasper 360 and have had no problams since. I don't mind the PaP because it's pretty cheep for the fetures I get, and I also used to play WoW. But anyway something funny is I got the xbox mainly for halo but I ended up playing CoD 4 wayyy more.
edit: @jwsoul -lol yeah sorry about spelling errors its 5am.
edit: @thejackel - Just wanted to know.
I bought a PS3 first. Then a gaming PC. I recently sold my PS3. A lot of stuff regarding consoles is BS that I just wont put up with. PC suits me much better.Spartan8907I second this.
Mass effect, SPc, and L4D are all on the 360 and PC. So MS owns both.

This would be correct if microsoft actually owned "pc gaming". But it does not, it only makes the most popular operating system. And even in some people's cases (myself included - Linux) they do not game on microsoft products.
If you wanted a more accuracte description of who owned pc gaming, in my case atleast, it would be Intel, ATI, ASUS, Saitek, LG, Roccat, Western Digital, OCZ, Antec, and so on.
I own a PS3 and if its a game I really want to play that's on the 360 more then likely it's on the pc too. I have an Acer Aspire 6930 Blu Ray equipped laptop. It has an Nvidia GeForce 9600m GS grphics card. Im not a big pc guy but my laptop can play alot of modern games fairly well. Grid,Fear,etc...
firist of all what do you mean by "buy Microsoft exclusive games Like: L4D, Mass effect, Splinter Cell ect..?"
I don't get it those games aren't exclusive. That would be the same as saying every game on the xbox360 is a sony exclusive because it can be played on a Sony HDTV.
He means by "Games For Windows and XBox 360" -- platforms that Microsoft have a stake in. You can't play a GFW without a copy of Microsoft's OS.firist of all what do you mean by "buy Microsoft exclusive games Like: L4D, Mass effect, Splinter Cell ect..?"

The games arn't exlcusive -- they're multiplatform. It's just a brand thing, sort of like how the cows call MLB 2009 the Show a "Sony exclusive" because it's only available on Sony platforms.

:? oh...k
But if you already have MS's OS (many people have this already installed on their computer) and I want to play game on my PC, how dose this translate into that game being a MS exclusive just because I'm on their OS? I don't have to buy their OS again, that was purchased seperate from game...just like a Sony HDTV or computer moniter I might be playing "on".
So again would that make it a Sony exclusive also because every game I play would be on a sony screen? Do you see what I mean?

It doesn't actually mean anything significant. When you see it brought up, it's usually by fanboys who have to cope with the problem that many of 360's games are also on the PC.Well, i have a ps3, gaming rig and 360 so it really depends whether i get it on 360 or on my PCbuy Microsoft exclusive games Like: L4D, Mass effect, Splinter Cell ect..?

Either way, Microsoft still benefits to some degree when you buy a GFW game. And without that OS, you have wasted money purchasing that game. Though you can try wasting your time with Linex and Wine... but it's so broken that the odds of you even playing a game through and through are dismal at best. But that's a different tangeant entirely.:? oh...k

But you don't "need" that Sony HDTV. You don't "need" that Sony Computer. What you do NEED in order to play those games is a Microsoft OS. Nevertheless, like a user said above... this is onyl broguht up as a knee jerk reaction. Yeah, the games exist and yeah they're mutliplatform. Nothing more. There's no such thing as brand exclusives in SystemWars.

If by benefit you mean lose money. GFW is a viral marketing campaign paid for by Microsoft. Unless the game is published by Microsoft, they don't get a dime. Those games not published by Microsoft and are GFW require Microsoft to pay the publisher for that logo on the box.[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]Either way, Microsoft still benefits to some degree when you buy a GFW game. I'm not so sure about that last part though, I haven't heard such a thing -- I do know that Microsoft does not charge developers or publishers a royalty fee for the brand.

I'm not so sure about that last part though, I haven't heard such a thing -- I do know that Microsoft does not charge developers or publishers a royalty fee for the brand. Microsoft has been really cheeky about calling it a marketing program, but if you look around the interwebs you can find a few articles which refer to it as such. I'm pretty sure at one point I read a breakdown which said that Microsoft pays publishers.[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]If by benefit you mean lose money.
