I certainly don't. I think for awhile they've just been harsh on gaming for the sake of being harsh. I don't agree with their reviews at all anymore, especially since most of their reviews pales in comparison to IGN. I've had problems with many, many of their GC games, but they're much worse now. I know it's personal preference, but how many others feel this way? I am switching to IGN full time from now on.
From an X360 owner who also owns a PS3 and Wii.... Gamespot really sucks.
X360 games have been Underrated severely, PS3 games have been underrated severely and Wii games have been underrated severely. Each console also has some titles that have been overrated, but not too horribly.
They are harsh reviewers, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. For example: if GS were too easy on games, you wouldn't be able to tell bad from good. Since they are more strict, you know when a game is good, and when a game is a masterpiece. I like it like that.
And so it starts... the same thing sheep did with Zelda. :P
Let me just say I don't agree with Jeff sometimes... or many reviewers. But you're not going to agree with them all, especially if you love a game and it scores worse than you think it will. You can't hate them for stating their opinions, but sometimes I think reviewers show a little bit of bias...
I mostly take all reviews from all sites in to consideration.

This backlash is with the game getting AAA... Just think what it would be like if it had gotten 8.5. I think the Lemmings would crash the servers with all of their rage.

medieval 2 was a stunning piece of gaming work.
and actually medieval was the 4th game in 6 years.
I trust the reviews, I also make up my own mind about the games that I buy. When a game gets a lower score than I anticipated I am not devastated unlike many of the posters here.

The main problem I have is with Bioshock review, Zelda TP review and a couple GC games. TP was 9.4, Bioshock so far is 9.8 and may be a top 3 rated game ever. I've heard the same guy reviewed both games. Then he's just horrible.

I agree with you (well maybe not on the best review site part, but they're good at least. I might like GameSpy, or IGN more),but I said no because of all of the N64/Saturn reviews that are really incorrect.

Really...everyone should use Gamerankings or Metacritic. Don't throw all your eggs in one basket.
I dont like the .5 thing, but GS is all that matters in SW (karma is funny sometimes.) Oh I remember lemmings and cows would say that in any thread last year after Zelda flopped, now there the ones saying it :lol:
I stopped trusting GS reviews along time ago, reviews in general actually.

I wouldn't say that. An average of all reviews can bee a good assistant when it comes to picking out which games to purchase and which games to avoid
Actually no they aren't, stopped reading reviews and reading about what the game would be about and watched gameplay videos and listened to the reception of it from others in forums and haven't picked up a game I've disliked since. Actually I picked up far worse games by listening to reviews such as NSMB and FFXII.
i view reviews more as recomendations, i prefer, unlike most of you, to think for myself and make my own decisions about what games to get and not to get. I dont need some guy that i dont even know, whos game preferences are probably not mine, to tell me what i should and shouldnt buy because of what he thought. So what if a game gets a perfect 10 or high 9, doesnt mean its a great game. The best games personally are the ones that get anywhere between a 7-8.9, but thats just my OPINION.
From IGN, EGM, Game Informer, even GameSpy, and of course more recently Game Rankings. Gamespot sucks for reviews most of the time, makes Sys Wars a bit more complicated when games do amazing on virtually all other sites/magazines, but do much less than that over here. Or it just makes this site look obsolete and unreliable. Or both.
I respect them more than most sites. Any game that scores 9+ here is generally a game I will enjoy. IGN hands out high scores like candy, so it means less when a game scores well there.
