I know that sony probably has released 4 SKUs so far;

20GB with emotion engine (discontinued)

60GB with emotion engine (discontinued)

60GB without emotion engine (discontinued?)

80GB without emotion engine.

but how about Microsoft, anyone know how many they released so far?

They had the Core, the original Premium, the Elite, and the new Premium with HDMI. Now they're also coming out with a Core replacement that will be themed more on arcade games. :|

The 60Gb without the emotion engine is still being produced from what I can gather as I don't think the 80Gb version has a release date in Europe yet.

MS going by your descriptions would have released 4 also. Core, 20GB Premium, 120GB Elite, Core Replacement thingy. Looks like we'll start seeing 65nm processor 360s fairly soon too.

Lemmings: "But MS gives us options."

Really? My buddy bought a 360-premium last holiday season. He has an HDTV and, therefore, wants the best quality possible. His 360 has given him that "O ring" problem once and he can't wait until it fails again. At least, he wants it to fail afterMS starts using the falcon chip, so it can be fixed correctly. And the best part of it all, he is in hopes that MS will give him a whole new console with a HDMI port included. (and, no, he's not mentally challanged)

What kind of option is this? Wait until your console goes to crap again to get it fixed right, which should have been done the first time? Hoping that while you're waiting for them to fix it again they will just start adding features to your console that have been released since your purchase? What a joke.

13. Xbox360+Wi Fi add on

14. Xbox360+ HD-DVD add on

15. Ugly Green Xbox360 Halo version

So that's 15 SKUs in all

Halo_Spartan211

Dude you are nothing but a troll, with absolutely nothing intelligent to say at all. Why don't go gain some intelligence then come back, and speak.

The 360 has so many SKU's that it's hard to keep up with and it will have to have even more to be compatible with the PS3. If I wanted a 360 it will be several years before I would do that, that is if they are able to support the majority of XBOX/360 games but if not well I will never own one.

A different version is not a new SKU. The original premiums are the same SKU as the new premiums with the HDMI on them. SKU is related to how a company packages and markets a product. Core, Premium, Elite, HaloEdition are all each different SKU's. A repackaged "Arcade Core", as rumored recently, would probably be a new SKU as well.

If you want to argue version numbers we can all pull up the dozen or so different versions that each console, GC, PS2, Xbox etc have all gone through. Hell the Genesis had about 8 different form factors it went through.

What are you trying to say? You are having a hard time "keeping up" with the 360 SKUs? Why would you need to, or even want to for that matter? Are you really that confused by all the different versions available?

"if they are able to support the majority of XBOX/360 games"? Huh? All 360 games play on all 360's. What are you talking about?

Sony is up to 3 total so far. They should be back down to only 1 being available by the end of next year if the 60gig sells out like they stated it would.

Microsoft is up to 4 counting the Halo edition, and not count the rumored "Arcade Core".
