I love bill gates, the mans a genius and Microsoft is the greatest company in history. no question about it. i mean i own an xbox, xbox 360, a zune, and i eagerly anticipate every windows product. now being such a loyal microsoft fanboy (yes i admit i am a 360 fanboy) i have been there with microsoft since the beginning. i am an early adopter and so i bought an xbox 360 at launch. i love my 360 but over the past few years that i had it, microsoft has done nothing but suck the life out of me. heres why. bought a 360 at launch for $500. RROD within 2 weeks. at the time the problem was still largely unknown and they were sorting it out. it took me 1 month and a half to get it back. later on. microsoft releases the 360 elite with its 120gb hardrive. talk about screwing the people who bought it at launch. my hardrive is now full and i have to constantly delete things to make room. my 360 scratches my gears of war disc and renders it unusable. microsoft says it wasnt the 360s fault and it must have been mine. i am forced to buy a new copy. halo 3 launches, 360 rrod a week b4 launch. i get it back in 3 weeks. being a huge halo fan, i have to wait 2 weeks to play it. and microsoft sent me back a console clearly not mine, as it has marks on it. i purchase a month of xbox live. month ends, and they renew it on my credit card without my permission. i try to cancel it a day after, they say its too late. i cancel my auto renewal and for some reason it happens again for a 3rd month after which i called and cleared it up but i still had to pay for the 3rd month. halo wars launches. current day. my 360 rrod a week b4 launch (coincidence?) turns out microsoft now makes me pay for my own box and i have to send it in myself. they delivered it within a week and 2 days but they tried at 11 in the morning on a weekday. im not home so now i have to pick it up at hour away location. still not able to play halo wars. and it doesnt end there. there are many minor things about their service. for example i went through all the stuff on thier help line (5 minutes) and waited 5 more to be connected to a tech guy and they hung up on me. no lie. gaming is supposed to be fun and relaxing. the thing i turn to at the end of the day to take a break. instead, microsoft is torturing me. despite all this, I continue to support microsoft because the 360 is damn awesome, problems aside and the games r awesome. so i forgive you microsoft. but sometimes, i wish they were a bit like sony.

Sorry, but i just fail to understand how this could, asthe topictitle puts it, ruin your life??? I mean common, dude. If a broken videogame console ruined your life that dosn't sound like much of a life you lead. I don't want to offend you but you need a reality check, there are people out there whos life s have acually been ruined by tragic circumstances. Those people would as I do scoff at you. Personally, I've never had any of my systems break down on me. But as a gamer, I know I can't stand 1 day without playing my games, while waiting for a repair on a problem that should never have happened in the first place.
Until Microsoft completely eradicates the RROD issue, I'm never shelling out my hard earned money for a 360.
Like...you wish they needed to be sued to fix machines and you wish they'd take 3 gens to make stable hardware? They still could be really, xbox has major issues, xbox360 had major issues, if xbox 720 is stable, they will be kinda like Sony...except you don't need to sue for repairs.

Ruined your life .... wow. Mine's workign just fine, so you must have gotten a lot of sour lemon consoles. Telly ouw aht, go sell your current console, and get a new one with the jasper chip, and see if you still ahve any problems.
A bit like Sony? I have had more trouble in Customer service with PS2's then I ever had with MS. I bought the $50 2 year service plan with my 360 and I'm covered for 2 years after warranty, on anything. You buy insurance for a car, some people even do for cell phones, why not for a console?
Only had my console repaired once in nearly 3 years. And they sent back my actual console in perfect condition (in less than 1 week.)

lucky u. i had to wait about a month to get mine repaired. i am sorry to read that. i am on my 3rd 360. the red rings are on a 3 year warranty. it renews when u get it repaired. if ur disc breaks u should call up the company that u got it from. my 360 broke cod4 (kind of my friend's friends fault) the next weekday i called them up i had to pay $25 for a new game. i waited 2 weeks for the game to come. they also gave me game of the year edition so i had a free code. it is good instead of buying a new one for $60.

It astonishes me how people can defend this console. Seriously guys, you sound like slaves "yeah, we're slaves,,, but at least our owners are nice to us sometimes". Seriously, the PS3 is a bargain considering how pathetic the (hardware) of 360 is. You guys need reevaluate your lives if you constantly defend a company that has let you down so much, and so often Even if the TC is a fakeboy... that doesnt change the fact that RROD and all the other problems happen ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately Im the only one out of any friends with a PS3 (they all got 360 because it was cheaper)... and theyve all had RROD except one who got it for christmas (so not yet)
Seriously, that's why Im with Nintendo. They don't do that kinda crap. The Wii doesn't just break on it's own. Also, a fan lost all of his Nintendo goods when his house burnt down. So what do they do? They repay him with evrything brand new that he lost (A GBA and Wii, with some games.) Seriously, Nintendo are so much better than Microsoft, oh, and Bill Gates is a fat, selfish arse.
