How much Advertisements are there on Xbox Live?

as of right now, there is none.

and if there was would it piss me off? prob not.

The ones I've seen recently are for free stuff, so i dont care.

there are no ad's on xbox live there links and info boxes telling you about stuff on the service, you never see any thing about an outside product and or service its all leading or talking about stuff that can be found in the market place.

All the ads have to do with something related to what the 360 has to offer. And if you don't like being informed, you can always turn them off.

Exactly. While non gaming companies like the Navy and Ford Sync do have content on the Marketplace for marketing purposes, it's usually 360 related stuff like gamerpics and themes. These so called "ads" are just direct links to let you know about stuff that's there on the marketplace. Recently I saw an ad for Underoath's Free Xbox Video Journal and I decided to download it. Without those ads, I would hve never known that was there, and it was a pretty interesting vid. And, like I said before, if you don't like these ads, you can always turn them off.

I'll start with the marketplace blade

you basically have a list of spotlight, new arrivals, gamestore, video store, redeem core, active downloads account management on the left side, then on the right is a big box with link to marketplace content, right now its dosomethingamazing.com and if you use that link it lets you download USAF gamerpics, theme pack and USAF video and you can learn more, below that is a smaller banner for the ford sync it takes you to a small page that lets you download gamerpics, themes and find out info about the ford sync so i guess there is advertisements.

xbox live blade

you have to gamercard, inside xbox, friends and messages, chat and im, then a small banner ad leading to marketplace content on the left side, on the right is a bigger ad that leads to more markplet content right now it shows cod4 live fire weekend 2008. below those is the loading icon for the disc drive telling you if or what you have in your drive.

Games blade

gamerpic, games library, achievements, playedgames then a banner ad on the left side then on right is the same bigger ad box, and then below the drive icon. and thats it for ad boxes on xbox 360 and live.

There ARE ads. I've seen plenty of ads for Mountain Dew, movies and other TV series, and other ads as well. Funny thing is I paid $50 for my 12 month subscription and I have to see some of the crap.CStheGreat

Those are for either contests or you can download free dashboard themes/gamer pics. Also the TV shows/Movies are things you can download from the marketplace so duh they are going to advertise those just like they do the games.

Like some one else said i dont mind the ads at all, i actually like them to be there as they do a good job of informing me about new or just cool stuff on the marketplace with a direct link to it!
