You're in Australia too? I recently picked up Prototype and Infamous for $110 each. I don't think I'll buy games in shops anymore. I'll just order online.

The reason they cost so much in Australia is because of the exchange rate and GST of 10%. I dunno if America has somthing like GST, that may be why games are cheaper there. Plus, were a smaller country with a fairly high average income, so i guess game retailers figure they can use that as a reason to charge more

Oh yeah, Big W tend to be cheaper. I got mine at EB games. Sometimes they can have some good deals for old games though. I got Oblivion and Sins of a Solar Empire for a total of $50 there.
If I go by overall comparison of worth, most new games cost $100-120 for PS3 and 360, 90$ for Wii, 60$ for PSP and DS. What I mean with comparison is that this isn't the value in dollars, but this is the intrinsic value.
$50 for new wii games
$60 for new 360 games
$60 for new PS3 games
$30-35(mostly 30, 35 is 1st Party like mario kart ds) for DS games and for some reason square enix likes to sell all their DS games new for $40 when they come out.
$40 for new PSP games.
$40 for new PS2 games.
Same here except some Wii games cost $39.99 or $29.99 but those are either Budget Titles or Compilations.$59.99 for PS3/360 games
$49.99 Wii games
$29.99 DS games
$39.99 PSP games
$49.99 PC games

69.99 (plus tax so that ends up being 78 bucks) for PS3/360 games. I'm in Canada. I really don't pay attention to others.

this, although if you wait a couple of weeks you can get them all less than 30. i haven't payed more than 30 for a game since about 2 years ago. nintendo first party titles last the longest at full price, but they come out cheaper so they are like 27-29.
pc games i pay about £15 for, including the likes of dawn of war 2. the most expensive game i bought was sims 3 at £26.
