As long as people keep buying it at a crazy rate, Nintendo doesn't need to drop the price.EuroMafiaTrue. It's like beating a dead horse.
I think Nintendo makesaround $2 on every Wii sold if I recall correctly, so $248 USD to make?poogawottaIt's $6 on every Wii, and I'm pretty sure that the profit includes distribution costs, so it probably costs a bit less than $244.
well it uses less power than a toaster, so not that much.Justinge3That logic isn't necessary true. A lot of things that uses less energy are actually more expensive to make.
And why the heck hasn't there been a price drop yet. Is it because old ladies and soccer moms are buying it to keep in shape.-Ninja_Dog-10 cent.

I would have to say probably around the 175-225 range, if we're talking about the whole bundle (controllers, Wii Sports and all).
If you're just talking about the console itself, I can't imagine it being more than 100 bucks.
The hardware is weaker than the XBOX which can be found now for $100 and sold at $250 7-8years ago. But since people keep buying it they're not going to drop the price.zaku101completely untrue, the wii is more powerful than the original xbox, ill go find some links to show you the hardware specs if you like
EDIT: i had a quick squize at the hardware specs for both, they are generally pretty even in hardware power except wii has more ram and can display upto 500 mil polys a sec compared to exbox that could only display 112mil

Don't know if the source was very credited though. I'll find the link.

Most Wii's I've personally sold have been to people in my age group. with maybe 10% being to older people and maybe 33% being to women.
Probably around $100Tulak_HordHas to be way less than that -- at peak manufacturing cost, it was $158. Two years down the line and you would still believe it would be around $100?
