How much graphically better do you think are PC versions of multiplats compared to console versions? Is the difference huge or barely noticeable?

To start off you can imagine every game you've played on consoles in 60fps and up, then in ultra sharp resolutions, and then add in no texture pop ins, no jaggies at all, and finally the additional graphical effects you normally wouldn't see in consoles because at this point there wouldn't be enough memory. :)
even just the difference 60+fps and 1080p makes is huge, without taking into account higher quality graphical settings
The PC versions of alot of multi-plat games look much better.
The difference is huge.
I played MW2 on both, PS3 and 360, and it can't really compare to what it looks like on PC, even with it being a DX9 game.
(and this was when the game came out, and i was running a 9800GT, i played MW2 on PC, and then tried to play it on the consoles again, i just couldn't do it)

As others stated, it depends on each game, bad ports (basicly same game, just retooeld for the PC) has no difference really.
but Versions built specifically for the pc rivals those bullshots some people like to throw around on these boards. The difference so staggering that it really is like looking at a last gen game, and one of this gen. The only thing that tells them apart is that it is the same game, and not 2 different generations of games going head to head.
So: Worst Case, None (this is REALLY rare tho) Best case About a generational Leap (Best case, used to be rare, but is becomming more and more normal it seems)
For the vast majority of games you simply get a AA and res bump, the biggest difference isn't graphics at all. It's things like load time and controller options. Load times on Mass Effect 2 on 360 are like 4 times as long as the ones on my PC.
depends on the hardware, some games may look worse, some may look vastly superiorHow much graphically better do you think are PC versions of multiplats compared to console versions? Is the difference huge or barely noticeable?

Not as much as people want you to believe. Some really are superior, some others, are exactly the same, they didnt even bother adding graphics options.dakan45Luckely we got Catalyst Control center and Nvidia control panel to force AA/AF and various other options.
How much better does Just Cause 2 look? (may hold of buying PS3 version till i get a better PC).

Massive difference in JC2. Metro 2033 and Mafia 2 also are an incredible leap from console to PC. It's like comparing Half-Life 2 on the xbox to the PC version.
Even the crappiest ports still look significantly better. Twice the resolution, smooth framerates, high levels of AA, more graphics settings, DX 11, 3D is much more widely supported etc..

It depends on how much they have sabotaged the graphics to cover up consoles shortfalls. 1080p isn't going to offer much more visual clarity, if the game image has been blurred to hell; to hide all the imperfections. Hiding any visual clarity in the process.
When comparing between PC and console, I like to use Prototype, specifically because it is a crappy looking game. It's not visually impressive by anyone's standards, all the resources went into scale and mass AI. So when there are clear visual differences when you up the resolution, you know you are going to see differences in better looking games.

And for the hell of it, here's a uber close up.
Depends on the game. On Metro 2033, Just Cause 2, Far Cry 2, Crysis 2, Mafia II, ect the difference is huge. Black Ops the difference is not really big.

It depends on the game, but when its actually done right, its nearly night and day.
A game like mafia II is amazing on pc. Plus there is the extra physics for nvidia cards.
For some games, the difference is big, others not quite as big.

^^^^THIS IS THE CORRECT ANSWER^^^^
Even a game like Black Ops is running at 720p on the console looks a good bit worse than it does on PC, even though the textures and effects are pretty much the same.
I think native resolution does a lot for the clarity of the image. Games just look much cleaner, crisper and sharper on a good PC.
