PSP is down in and almost out, this holiday season will determine the fate of the water downed ps2.The_Rayzor
I'm pretty sure GOW and Crisis Core will keep the PSP up and running.
Well the problem with the PSP is that it tried to be a portable PS2. Mobile games should be easy to play, quick to play and stop playing, and appeal to a wide group of people. The PSP made games that belonged in the home mobile, and sufferred for it.osirisomeomi
Are you serious? Nintendo has had a such an impact in the handheld industry anything Sony would have done wouldn't have helped.
Onto the question, I'd say another few more years. For christ sakes, it's not dying, it's greatest games aren't even out yet. Far from it.
When the final grain of sand in my hourglass falls your precious PSP will be no more!JiveT
We will see about that.

If that's the case, then Xbox 360 is already dead and buried.
Ok, nice job bringing the 360 into something completely unrellevent
2 years. it will die in 09.
PSP 2 will be released. Mini Blu-ray discs (similar to UMD only with blu-ray tech.)
720p resoluion standard
4 gig internal
touch screen
dual analog
Mobile phone capabilites(over wifi)
internet(improved with touch screen)
slightly bigger disaplay, similar button layout
who knows what else.
300$ price tag
Nintendo will be forced to consider a Gameboy or DS, handheld. It should be interesting to see. I'm gonna bet on a DS 2, but under a new name. No idea waht they have planned.
yup... tahs what my crystal ball says. Results may vary.
After reading this thread its just as I thought. People really are losers.
Hopefully nintendo will make a series of sales mini games featuring Mario and Link that are easy to pick up just to satisfy all you people.

There's a little known Gem to be released on the DS called Phantom Hourglass, which after receiving 7 reviews on Gamerankings has an average score of 94%, and is on course to be the best handheld videogame of all time. I suggest you look that up as it appears not a set of mini-games.
PSP does more and whatever you want to call it call it.
PSP = Great for long trips via Bus, Train, Plane, Boat, Road Trips in car, etc etc
Bring movies with you too watch.
Listen to music you can download.
Play games that bring the home console feeling with you when you are deprived.
Surf the web and check the myspace etc etc.
Look at your photos and fiddle with backgrounds for fun.
All round its a great machine and I wouldnt mind taking Silent Hill and MGS:PO 2, Daxter, and SOCOM with me anywhere it would be great!
DS lite = Quick here and theres but nothing too long.
Better for school.
Play GBA games when you go over to a pals house.
Play DS games when you need a little bit more gameplay and have a little more time to kill on the side.
Overall the system has a healthy collection of games that are great to hop right into...but honestly not a great idea for the above mentioned trips...
I would get tired of gaming after awhile and having something else to do while bored is great! DS lite while fun really is a more archaic (old style) technology. Its really a win for quick quips of gaming but not so great for 3 day train trips from place to place.

Key point in my post is SALES. People care more about sales than they do about games.
Personally I have had enough of Zelda and every other franchise that has been around since I was a kid. That formula is dead and its time to try something new. I would rather see a new adventure game not set in the same universe as Zelda. Try building some new IPs Nintendo. I dare you.

4 new final fantasy games for the ds (plus 2 are already out to make it 6), 2 dragon quest games and remakes of dq 4,5,6, and ninja gaiden are going to be way better then those.

Maybe in sales, but heck no in quality (well, aside from DQ maybe). Final Fantasy hasn't been particularly good in years and I'm still dubious about Ninja Gaiden.
WipEout Pure is the best handheld racing title of all time IMO and Pulse is improving upon it all around, God of War is an extremely polished and beloved franchise that by all accounts is going to remain excellent in the transition to PSP.
Heck, I didn't even bring up Dracula X Chronicles which is probably my most anticipated game right now (aside from Pulse) or some of the other games coming soon here (Jeanne, SF:LS, MHF2, SOCOM: TS, FFT, Disgaea, Silent Hill, etc.).

First of all ninja gaiden games are some of the most polished games around and LoZ from japanese reviews is looking to be really promising as someone stated it (94% on gamerankings). Im not sure about some of the FF games but FF A2 and FF CC ring of fates are looking to be at least AA games if not better.

I'm still dubious about Ninja Gaiden via touchscreen, I'll have to try it to be sure. LoZ I stopped caring about a while back (approximately the time that Wind Waker released) and FF games almost always score highly, I thought FFX was crap to say the least and I'm sick of their ports of old games.
Can I acknowledge that DS has quality games coming out? Yes.
Do I think they are better? No, Crystal Chronicles has always been second string and FFTA was a disappointment.

Well i guess thats your opinion and im sure some of the psp games should be good games but i feel like the nds has more to offer to me since i am a Ninja gaiden and Loz fan and since the ds offers a different style of games aside for the consoles.

Yeah, they each have their strengths. I preferr PSP for the gameplay intensity and how many different things you can do with the system. That said it has suffered from developers that misjudge portable gaming's needs, although the sleep functional really helps a ton.
People need to get it out of their heads that just because DS is selling the best doesn't meant that PSP is failing. PSP is a bigger success than the Xbox 360.Timstuff
no it isn't, people actually buy 360 games. PSP owners need to stop trying to fool people into thinking that their handheld is any less of a failure
the PSP is deader tha corduroy
