Poll How much of a good player are you at Multiplayer games? (60 votes)

10/10 - Me being on a team is enough to guarantee the victory ! The Ultimate Player! 10%
9/10 - Expert - Once i get the hang of the game , i tend to be unstoppable. 5%
8/10 - Great - Consistently at-the-top player. Lows barely happen. 10%
7/10 - Very Good - Have highs and lows but i'm usually at top. 25%
6/10 Good - Have a satysfying level of skill but i don't expect to be great. 15%
5/10 Average - Well....average :D 15%
4/10 Overall, i tend to suck but i can surprise myself at times 8%
3/10 i suck and desperately try to get the job done and have fun. 3%
2/10 *Rage quites for the n'th time* 0%
1/10 "Multiplayer is BS, only Single Player" 8%

Yeah i love single player and campaigns but no one can deny the charm of Multiplayer games unless he or she sucks at it :P

Anyways . no need to get over-complicated , just tell us about your online experiences and how would you rate yourself. If you don't find my definitions correct then define it yourself.

Personally i'm not big on Multiplayer games but usually i get my fix with Battlefield series which i'm "Good" at them and i tend to love Co-ops like Splinter Cell , Borderlands, L4D, Killing Floor, etc which i'd rate myself as Good or Very Good.

Btw, by "Multiplayer" i mean both competitive games and co-ops, it'd be better to get specific tho.

I'm as good as they come for someone who only plays on weekends and isn't obsessed with the games 24/7. I usually end each match with a 4/1 kdr or higher.

I'm good at multilayer games and I usually am the top player most of the time, but I do have those days where I can't do anything. Mainly it's good games more than bad games.

I'm the no.2 in the leaderboards for the whole of Texas for BF4 tank piloting, and my total KDR is a 3.87 while playing the objective aggressively and being a team player (which is a very hard thing to do in BF games). So I'd say I'm pretty good.

It depends on the game though. In BF and UT I'm a god but in COD I'm a little bit better than average (it's probably because I despise COD).

I'm also really good at most fighting games (SC, DOA, etc.), racing games, and flight/space sims.

I'm mediocre in everything but the genres I mentioned above.

940 hours lol. It's my favorite FPS at the moment and pretty much the only one I play competitively these days. i tried to get into SWBF but it's too shallow and nooby for me and COD games are too twitchy for my liking.

Dayum!

i used to play COD but once i got into Battlefield i completely forgot about it , BF is way more amazing with good community.

SWBF seems fun but not for 60$, 20$ is the max i'd pay for that :D

Yup SWBF is definitely worth $20, I do regret paying the full $60 for it.

Yes, the community for BF games is amazing. The community and the gameplay are definitely its major selling points for me. It's tough for me to get into other FPSs after playing BF.

I'm below average these days. Reach was the last game I played most of and got to a .93 k/d ratio. These days I just play for fun and try not to loose the game for our side. :P

I find that if I get better at a game in online, I get worse in another game because I stop playing it to focus on one game.

For example if I stop playing Insurgency and play Rising Storm I get worse in Insurgency.

But I'm always a team player. I don't need a positive K/D to have a fun match.

It's a mix.

Top on 3D fighting games, mid on 2D.

Top only on BF games, mid on CS and COD.

Top at Racing games.

RTSs low. mostly TW, haven't played Star Craft in years.

3rdPSs low, bottom dweller.

Soccer top, all other sports games, low.

True that.

Like you, i don't care that much about K/D, for instance in Battlefield i'm a medic and try to revive and heal ppl as much as i can :D

Really depends on the game, how familiar I am with it and how much time I put into it. Also helps if I have friends that are into a game with me, as we can develop team strategies and coordinate better together than I can with utter strangers.

Going by the OP scale, I'd say I'm an 8/10 in most online games I play. If I were to stop playing all other types of games and focus just on online multiplayer games, I could probably be a real force to be reckoned with.

I suck at games online because I don't play that often, or at least shooters are the only one I play enough to really be comfortable as an online competitor.

I play shooters, and sometimes "get on a roll" once I start learning the maps - but I wouldn't say I'm great. I'll have an occasional round where I get like 50 kills vs. 10 deaths or something like that. I've seen some "cheaters" in CoD that spawn rape people and get like 100:1 ratios. I've never done that, because that's not the way I play. In a game like Battlefield, I play rush mode and just pretty much go on a b-line for the objective, even if I get killed like 10 times in a row LOL. I just don't care. That's they way I like to play it, all out for the objective. In other modes I will sometimes play more strategically, but I definitely play more as a team player than someone that cares about having a Kill/Death ratios. I do remember owning people at Counter Strike and Half-Life WAY back in the day (I mean the pre-Steam versions of those games). I used to get booted from servers because people thought I was cheating, but no, I was just owning them. It helped that I was playing on basically a lag free network at that time.

As far as other genres, I'm sure I"m terrible because I rarely even attempt play. Fighting games require much more practice that I'm willing to put in to actually be good. Tried playing a few fighting games and basically I can't win a single match online in something like Street Fighter or Tekken. So I must be pretty terrible. But like I said, I barely play enough to know the basic moves, let alone be able to time out juggle combos. I can win at Smash Brothers or Playstation All-Stars because those are more accessible/newb friendly - but Street Fighter? Forget about it. Even Mortal Kombat you wouldn't think requires much skill, but i pretty much get owned.

Driving games I'm not terrible at the arcade style games, I win fairly routinely. But if it's a simulation with harder settings I tend to not be able to keep up with the top drivers (i.e. they will open up a big gap and it keeps getting bigger every lap). The only simulator style game I've ever been decent at was the Dirt or Colin McRae games.

You have good stats too. It is all about PTFO and helping the team win. Thankfully, BF games reward good teamwork. There are still way too many idiots who play as sniper and are more concerned about K/D ratio and personal stats. I wish these people would just stick to COD as they are wasting a spot on the team. I don't care about personal stats. I just want to win. Sometimes you are stuck on a terrible team though and it can be challenging to have a good round.

i have to say tho, my ping is around 140 130 so that really affects my gameplay ... we don't have servers here so i usually play in Germany servers to have the best possible ping but srsly 140 is not good for Multiplayer , i'm sure if it was under 100 i would've done a better job.

About the BF , yeah that's what i like most about it, i love teamwork.

I voted very good based on your definitions, I basically consider myself above-average but not cream of the crop. I'm one of those people who always plays the objective, and my play style is very aggressive. For instance I hate sitting back and sniping in shooters, I like to be on the front lines, although a tactical retreat is often necessary. I certainly don't play to ensure my K/D looks strong, I play based on my preferred style and ensure I'm a team player depending on the game/mode.

I'll give a tip for people who don't consider themselves too good in shooters. More important than raw skill, gunplay, etc. Is being aware of your surroundings. Pay close attention to that, try to stick with team members if possible(at least 1), and you'll be on to a great start.

Good at dark souls style games, I won't make any difference in a cod match though because I'll never be in a cod match.

I'm able to do pretty well in open pvp and the arena for blade and soul but I get my ass kicked by assassins and summoners becuase of how cheap those classes are and I haven't mastered the techniques for dealing with them.

Also lol at the secret insult of the poll, you're implying that people only don't like multiplayer because they aren't good at it and play single player for that reason.

I'm good at Dirt 3 too.

As for fighting games, i tend to suck ...if you wanna get good at them you're gonna have to sacrifice your controller :D which i won't.

That's a good tip but depends on the shooter and the mode you play, in BF it definitely works but in games like CoD ppl are just obsessive with K/D ...and a good Headset can improve the experience.

Going by the OP scale, I'd say I'm an 8/10 in most online games I play. If I were to stop playing all other types of games and focus just on online multiplayer games, I could probably be a real force to be reckoned with.

I used to be beastly at the original America's Army tactical shooter because I had played it a lot. I primarily played the Pipeline map and I could be the last guy on my team vs. 6 other guys and win the round no problem. I knew the map inside out and the tendencies of players. I would pick people off one by one. I even had my account banned on suspicion of cheating because of all the cry babies. That pissed me off so much because I have never cheated in any online game. They had no proof and they just did it because of the shit players crying. I would dominate at BF 1942 as well. I was younger then and had a lot of time. hehe :)

I don't recall ever "bragging" about hacking.

I admitted I hacked because it's fun pissing people off and I get decent money for pretending I'm skilled.

I'm not hurting anyone, so I don't know what the big deal is. In fact, I think I'm doing a lot of good in the competitive scene. When someone highly ranked gets destroyed by me, they only get more inspired to improve their gameplay and skills, so I'm doing good in the end.

No one gets hurt and everyone benefits.

I am doing good for the gaming world. I am highly respected and inspire many gamers to want to be 'skilled' like I am, even if I really am not that skilled.

What exactly are you doing for the gaming world? Being an irrelevant 1 K/D noob?

Depends on the genre and gametype. Usually a lone wolf player and manage a 2x KDR on most FPS games. I'm slightly above average IMO at other stuff (Rocket League silver and Diamond for Halo 5, for example)

I don't compete in organized events but treat online play competitively.

I'm completely average. I don't have the time some of these people online seem to. It makes for a less fun experience. That's why I prefer to play the computer. I prefer my man against machine struggle over my guy who works full time and then some against the unemployed people living with their parents playing games 24/7struggle . Nothing wrong with being one of those but I simply can't compete.

I didn't know how to answer so I went for average. If you're looking for the guy who kills everyone in sight fast I'm not your man. But if you're looking for a support player who ALWAYS knows exactly the right thing to do to either a) keep our team alive or b) royally **** up the opposing team so the guys who CAN kill people fast can get in and do their job, I'm your man.
