How much do you believe the PS5 will cost? I say around $499 to $549.
I can tell you this much, I most certainly will not be paying $1,000 for a home console! I'd rather build a new powerful PC with that kind of money.
All jest aside, I'm sure it'll be $500 PS5 and Sony did say they want everyone able to afford PS5 for a fair price.
How much do you think it will? Of course none of know how much it will cost at the time.
lol, people can be very literal around here. I'm going with $499!
I might depend on how much next Xbox costs, and vice versa, if their two consoles are more evenly matched in terms of capabilities then pricing might be either's more compelling reason to get one over the other. Not like either haven't launched their consoles at a loss before.
Sony execs are signalling they're aware the platform needs affordability to transition/persuade PS4 owners to buy PS5s. So I'd say $449 - $499.
I think both PS5 and Scarlett will be $499 USD. I’m fine with this price point especially if they are going to be as powerful as they are appearing to be.
Anything less than $599 won’t be worth a damn. Early rumors and 5700XT performance don’t leave me very hopeful for a big graphical/performance jump. Next gen will be super meh
Sony may "Pull a 2006" with the Playstation 5. $599.99 for the PS5 pro version. In addition to the $499.99 for the regular PS5. Apparently Sony is releasing the Base and Pro PS5 Sku's at the same time.
With all of the promised Tech in the PS5 including full B/C with PS1/PS2/PS3/PS4. Having Ray tracing, Solid state drives with almost zero loading times. The regular PS5 Sku could feature a tiny 500GB HDD While the PS5 Pro could feature a 2TB Solid State HDD. Built in tech for PSVR 2 and forward compatibility for 8K. etc The Playstation 5 will be expensive. I would like a $400.00 price point but in 2019. That is not likely.
I've been thinking $500 for a while, but if the Sony cartridge based storage stuff is true, I wonder if they'll sell a lower storage version for cheaper.
I don't like multiple SCUs but it's been done before so who knows.

I'll be surprised if it's more or less than $500.
More and Sony knows it's too expensive to get enough sales.
Less and they're either selling at a loss or releasing an under-powered shitbox.
One thing I know: I'll be waiting as long as possible to pick one up. Day-one purchases can and will be considered beta hardware. Even if they don't release a mid-gen upgrade, there will be hardware revisions making the system quieter and more power-efficient.
They're especially talking that they want this console to reach a wide audience, fast. Can't do that going over $500. Maybe they might aim a little lower.
399.
If they are smart 299.
Xbox One X, the most powerful console today, has a base price of $500. Sure you can get it cheaper on black friday... but anyway... how the hell can Sony/Microsoft sell their next gen consoles one year from now for $400. That is the base price of a PS4 PRO today. Next gen consoles with at least twice or tripple the horsepower of the Xbox X, packing more expensive SSD drives... no way.
Maybe Sony will think of something. Release it without a disk drive, sell it separate to drive cost down lol.
