If a console was compatible with every other console's games, and if it had a downloadable library with every game from past generations available, how much would you pay for that console?

999.99, but it better have all the features of all the consoles, like PS2/PSOne BC, GC BC, Wiiware, PSN, XBLA, etc.

Only $1000 eh? So about $150 more than the cost of buying a PS3, Xbox Pro and a Wii?

The most I would ever pay for any console is 300 dollars. Period. Which is why I don't have a PS3 or 360 yet. I want them, but for the price of a 360 I bought an Intellivision with 30 games, a Colecovision with 20 games, an Atari 7800 with 15 games, a Virtual Boy with 3 games, a Jaguar with 15 games and two controllers, an Atari Lynx II with 3 games, and a SEGA 32X (boxed) with 2 games.

The 360 costs $300 goofball! Of course you could get the arcade that comes with 512MB memory (but 256 really--they upgraded it recently for NXE) for $200 or a bit pricier the Elite for $400 with a much bigger HDD than necessary (standard is 60GB) with Halo 3 and Fable 2.

Uhh... Probably around 1000 dollars. It may be more, considering I would probably sell my other consoles to go in for the ultimate one. But then again, I don't have much use for games on systems I don't own. There aren't too many PSP or 360 games I really want.

I said 300 is my upper limit. I don't buy every console that hits 300 dollars.

a PC can play all the past generation console games. IT also has the most amount of games and exclusives coming out for it each year more then all 3 consoles combined!

3000$. But I would also want it to play PC games or something. But I wouldn't pay 3k now... I have almost every console in existance and at least 75% of the library for each (With the exception of the last two generations and the PS1)

I'll stick with my ps3, all the games that I want are on the ps3. the 360 might have a couple games here and there that I might like.

Aside from the fact that it's highly illegal, there are lots of systems that can't be emulated at full seed or with proper controls. Saturn, Jaguar, Turbografx CD, Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, Virtual Boy, etc.

Perfect number IMO, especially if we have to pay to play the back catalog.

There has to be a line, and I would only be getting one machine.

It's called the pc. pretty much every classic pc game can be now bought and downloaded all old game will work on new pc hardware (might have to run win95 to run some but they will still run on a core 2 system and pretty much all games from last gen run fine on vista)
