Only $1000 eh? So about $150 more than the cost of buying a PS3, Xbox Pro and a Wii?999.99, but it better have all the features of all the consoles, like PS2/PSOne BC, GC BC, Wiiware, PSN, XBLA, etc.

The most I would ever pay for any console is 300 dollars. Period. Which is why I don't have a PS3 or 360 yet. I want them, but for the price of a 360 I bought an Intellivision with 30 games, a Colecovision with 20 games, an Atari 7800 with 15 games, a Virtual Boy with 3 games, a Jaguar with 15 games and two controllers, an Atari Lynx II with 3 games, and a SEGA 32X (boxed) with 2 games.savebatteryThe 360 costs $300 goofball! Of course you could get the arcade that comes with 512MB memory (but 256 really--they upgraded it recently for NXE) for $200 or a bit pricier the Elite for $400 with a much bigger HDD than necessary (standard is 60GB) with Halo 3 and Fable 2.

I said 300 is my upper limit. I don't buy every console that hits 300 dollars.
I'll stick with my ps3, all the games that I want are on the ps3. the 360 might have a couple games here and there that I might like.
a PC can play all the past generation console games. IT also has the most amount of games and exclusives coming out for it each year more then all 3 consoles combined!johnny27Aside from the fact that it's highly illegal, there are lots of systems that can't be emulated at full seed or with proper controls. Saturn, Jaguar, Turbografx CD, Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, Virtual Boy, etc.
$700 is the most I would pay

Perfect number IMO, especially if we have to pay to play the back catalog.

There has to be a line, and I would only be getting one machine.
