I do this a lot with Final Fantasy games. I'll get to a save point, say I'm going to stop, play to the next save point, and do it again. Sometimes it's because I'm just hooked by the gameplay, sometimes I'm hooked by the story, and sometimes it's just annoying and I don't know why I do it.

That's a surefire sign of a good game.

Not in all cases. I played some old NES games that were so horrible that I kept playing just to see how they could make it even worse on the next level.

i've done that with only a couple games recently, mgs4 and UC2. normally im pretty good at turning a game off b/c i can usually figure out where the next save point is. some games don't savevery often and some games (demons souls) save every5 seconds.

Only for good games. Or I usually set a goal as to what I need to be done per day, grind to a certain level, complete blah blah chapter etc. I like knowing how far I'm in a game as well.

Just did that today with GoW2, I was going to stop around the beginning of the palace of the fates and before I know it I'm finishing the game. Same with Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2.

I did that with Infamous. I kept doing it until 4 in the morning, and I had a class at 8.

Been doing that with AC2 recently. I just seems like I keep finding fun things to do. Hardly repetitive at all in comparison to the first AC.

I do this a lot with games I really enjoy. This gen, I did this with:

MGS4 (Finished the entire game without skipping any cutscenes in two sittings)
Uncharted 2
Dead Space
Demon's Souls
GeOW 1&2
Dead Rising
COD4,5,6 (I always say "one more match..." then stay on for another 30 mins or so"

I also remember I used to do this A LOT with Monster Hunter Freedom on PSP and most jrpg's I used to play like FF, Breath of Fire, etc.
