I'm so old school I blow the dust off the discs and disctray whenever the games start acting up...
:P
I still play my NES I played it just this morning.
Edit* I started gaming in 1988 on the NES I was 2 at the time.
how oldschool am i?
started with an Mattel Aquarius and after that I owned the following systems:
MSX1, MSX2, MSX Turbo-R, NES, SNES, Sega Megadrive, Amiga 500, N64, PS1, Sega Saturn, XBOX, Gamecube, PS2 and Dreamcast.
PC I am pretty oldschool my first pc was an XT and been there ever since.
yes, and they were based around gameplay and not cut scenes. it was a grand old time where base ball games had fighting robots with cannons and beam swords for arms (base wars NES) and the blue team was always fighting the red teamThere where videogames before the PS3?

I started with the nes too, california games. were not old school but old enough. my little brother's friends in high (seniors mind you) consider themselves hardcore gamers and thought video games started during the ps1, n64 era.I'm not that oldschool I started gaming in the NES era with a Atari 2600.

This amuses me, since I've seen the same tendency here and there.
The first system I ever owned was the Atari. First game I ever played was The Goonies and Centipede for Atari. The first game I ever bought was Pac Man for Game Boy. But what honestly got me into hardcore gaming was the NES and SNES.
Aw I remember the good old C64 days, waiting up to 15 minutes for games to load and then struggling to figure out the controls between the keyboard and joystick you got. Good times, good times. Heck I even remember playing Ghostbusters on the C64 and just enjoying around the city lol.
I also remember the Atrai days, I'd always try to get games cheap cause you could never tell what game was good and what was bad. Always a gamble back in the day to get a new game that no one knew anything about.
I remember fighting in school about which console was better, NES or Genesis, and then it became SNES and Genesis. I remember the first time I picked up Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt and was floored by how well it played. I remember cranking through Doom and thinking gaming couldn't possibly get any better than this. I remember trying to get through the text version Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on the old DOS system and thinking that it was so cool to type in what I wanted to do and then have it done (never made it past the poetry section ~_~).
Yes I've been gaming for a long time now, and I still love the older consoles. Right now on my TV stand, along side my 52" Sharp Aquos I've got my 360, Wii, PS2, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, NES, Sega Genesis, and my Xbox and PS1 are on top my book self right beside the TV as well as my old Gameboy color, Gameboy Advance, and DS (the original badboy). I'm a proud gamer and a collecter of games.

Sadly I probably play old school games mre than modern ones. I still have a C64, but use VICE as its a little easier. I've played many a text based adventure games in my time... I was having a quick wang on Frankie Goes to Hollywood on the C64 yesterday, however I'm stuck into Alien 3 on the SNES right at the mo
