How on earth will microsoft suceed by having a third place EVEN in the US.

The xbox 360 was the 3rd best selling console of february in the US.The wii was the top seller with the ps2 taking second place.And please dont bring in the fact that 360 is more expensive then these 2 because that will always be the case.And despite being twice more expensive the wii outsold the ps2.

When u look at the overall console race then sony won it in feb as the combined sales of the ps2 and ps3 were significantly more than the combined sales of the cube and wii.However microsoft again comes in third over here with dissapointing combined sales of xbox and xbox 360.

Sony dont have to be worried bout the ps3 sales as long as the ps2 is selling cuze that will bring in plenty of games revenue.If the ps2 doesnt sell only then u can attack the ps3 cuz then u can say that sony consumers have shifted.

MS are due to go into profit within the next financial year, a whole year ahead of schedule so they are doing really well.

Also you are forgetting the biggest gaming platform - Windows. These two platforms combined together are a real force. Developers can develop for both platforms and the players can play cross platform.

Some upcoming pc games are available only on windows vista, how much money do you think MS are going to make out of that?

MS succeeding in the gaming arena is inevitable.

I think 360 has won the world if u look at it from this way:playstation the giant leader is losing games,360 got big homebase now pluss great games..many devolopers are suporting the 360.the xbox came with the online and the harddrive.

playstaion exsist from the 90's..strong beast..and so far the 360 is beatn it by every term.

MS made better console when it comes to gaming.

many devolopers has said that the 360 is clear winner when it comes to graphic.

even if 360 comes on sec or third place.they are not losing,they ARE wining. they are fighting the boss..the playstation.the fanbase is growing,the new games still coming,many devolopers are supporting.

so imagen what the next XBOX will do??

The Wii just launched and is still going through it's high demand period and the PS3 really should be too. In the US the 360 already has a decent lead on the Wii and sales in Febuary were not so much greater than the 360s that it will be catching up any time soon, so there is time for 360 take the lead in monthly again.

Maybe a price drop or Halo 3, Mass Effect and GTA 4 will help. As far as the other next gen competition goes the 360 has consistently outsold the PS3 in the US and while the PS3 is sure to make a comeback when there is a price drop and MGS, GTA4, GT5 and FFXIII are released the 360 might have enough of a lead to hold that lead long enough for some more big games to come to the system. Games are what will win or loose this generation, just like the last.
