In your genre of choice, obviously.

Which games do you excel at?

Which games, that try as you might, can you just not seem to grasp?

Personally, I seem to do well im most FPSes and racers.

However, still to this day I barely make it past the first couple of levels of most platformers.

Now U.

Depends on the genres, but these days I think, going by your poll, probably above average.

On twitch FPS´s I´m actually fairly good at them, also RTS´s like Starcraft 2 or Supreme Commander and sim racers like iRacing,GTR,Race 07,among others, all of those as far as MPm is concerned.

Most of the other genres I think above average.

Fighting games on the other hand I´m god awful lol.

Well obviously practice helps, but I'm really talking about games that you just "get".

As soon as I learned the base mechanics, I was pretty damn good at RTS games, even as a kid.

Same here. I own Street Fighter but have no idea what I'm doing half the time. More often than not, I end up mindlessly bashing buttons in the hopes that I pull of something amazing.

Fighters require a lot of time and dedication to master but it's just a genre I'm not interested in investing that much effort into.

Fighting games, FPS, 3rd Person Shooters, Platformers, RPG's, RTS, and Action-Adventure...are my top genres.

I'm pretty skilled. My biggest love though was Fighting games and that tourney movement in the 90's.

My sig confirms my completion rate on at least two of my platforms I game on.

Oh, not at all.

I can get the top score in COD4 deathmatch on a good day, but other than that I'm useless in MP. And I've never got all the achievements in any game.

At least when I beat Demon's Souls I can say I did that, but playing Royal was honestly Easy Mode.

Skilled? Eh. Ive beaten my fair share of "difficult" games I suppose. Ghouls n Ghosts, Black Tiger, Contra, Castlevania, some maniac shmups etc. People seem to really complain about how difficult games like Demons and Dark Souls are nowadays yet I breezed through them. I have my strengths and weaknesses. Im absolutely atrocious at competitive FPS games though. TPS Im great in but FPS? I cant keep up.

I've played in clans and won money in tournaments in BF2 and Unreal. I, however, don't really like First person shooters that much. I am not really that good with platformers or RPG:s, that I like to play.

probably about a 5-6 overall. 6 at most fighting games. 8 for platformers. 2-3 for console FPS. 5 for PC FPSs and RPGs and action games. 4 at RTSs. 6 at TBS. 9 for SSBM.

When it comes to MP, I typically like to improve myself as much as possible if I like the MP game enough. So I guess generally I'd say I'm skilled but nothing amazing. Usually I have my great games, my good games, and my horrible ones.

When it comes to single player, ehhh, I'm okay I guess, it really varies on the game. BUt I supposed I'm skilled to a degree here as well, generally speaking.

Overall, I'd say I'm 6-7 when it come sto being skilled. Although for the sake of an e-peen boost I suppose I'll pick 7-8 on the poll.

Above average. i would say.

Multiplayer wise, it depends of the game. Im not a good player of fast paced games like CoD. In Bad Company 1 and 2, on the other hand, i used to be one of the best. Unfortunatly Battlefield 3 is basically an open world CoD game, so im not very good at it.

Im a better coop player than competitive though. In coop games like L4D2 and horde mode, im usually the best player.

Simgle player wise, i like to beat my games in the hardest difficulties (Mass Effect on insanity, Halo on legendary, Skyrim on master, etc...)

i rate average in most genres but in guildwars i am an alliance battling machine. folks.. give wide berth to an dervish or monk you see in AB, i will run you down.

i also have mild skill in online rts's but im far from one of those ridiculously skilled macro masters. beyond that i give myself a 7-5.5 in every other genre.

I 100%'ed Meat Boy !

Well I learn/adapt to a game quickly due to my enormous experience playing video games, but I don't think I have ever mastered a game, in general I would say 7-8.

Speed running isn't my thing though, which is basically the end game for most SP games. Oh yeah and high scores, I don't see the point in doing such things.

I did start a no raccoon-suit run on 3DL, I recommend that because that way you can get the most out of the level design, with the suit you can just breeze through levels.

Average at some, very good at RTS & RPGs, and horrible at others (like online shooters, i don't have the patience).

For my favorite genres like platformers, shoot 'em ups, beat 'em ups, i usually suck at my first playtrough, but as i continue on i memorize the layout of the level and the pattern of the bosses/enemies, thus its a pretty satisfying experience once i complete something that was previously impossible for me. That has its limits though, if i can't beat a boss after 7 times, i completely quit.

At racing games, i don't care how much i loose, its fun racing around and i know i'll get better and win as time goes by.

I'm pretty good at lots of different games. a game which recently had me going "i just can't do this" is try to play SC2 online as Zerg. I just get totally overwhelmed with all the micromanagement and totally forget to keep spawning larvae with my queens and i also suck at remembering to scout and working out what units to build. I could probably get it if i played more but its a lot of time that needs to be dedicated to it. The game is awesome though.

RPGs are what i'd consider myself quite good at i suppose, used to be good with FPS but stopped caring/enjoying the genre so now i suck at any competitive mp FPS.

Maybe its because i'm getting older, but i really don't care how good i am anymore, i play to have fun and aslong as i am i don't care whether i win or lose.

Yeah I'm pretty good in nearly every genre I've played, I can't really explain it but I find gaming natural.

Here are two examples of my skill in two completely different genres for two popular games:

In 2009/2010 I was said to be one of, if not, the greatest Pro Evolution Soccer goal-scorers in the world by the PES community which consisted of both amateurs and professionals of the game alike but damn did I invest a lot of time getting there.

This video is considered the best 2009 video on the internet and all the goals were scored by myself against the highest CPU difficulty all with default, stock settings:

PES 2009 Ultimate Goals

I also in that time set the world record in Road Rage mode on Burnout Paradise which still hasn't been broken:

Burnout Paradise World Record

It honestly depends on the genre. In terms of FPS games, I excel in both SP and MP. I am quite good at Halo, BF3, CoD and lately Tribes Ascend (give me a spinfusor and man I'll make the person regret that they tried to get me). I remember back in CoD4, I could single handedly turn the tide of the battle in TDM, Sabotage and Domination. In terms of RTS's, I am quite average. I can do well in games such as DoW40, CoH, Supreme Commander 2, and Total War, but I suck at the likes of Starcraft 2, Command and Conquer and etc. My issue is I try and turtle a lot but that, in MP does not work out well (not an issue in SP is). Am also quite good at racing games. Oh, was pretty good at Guitar Hero and Rock Band (mainly the guitar parts, but am below average in the drums). I am terrible at fighting games (cant get the hand of all the combo's and stuff). Also not that great at MMO's (dont have the patience for them) and not good at the PVP portions (although imo these games dont require skill, just patience and grinding for good items). Not too great at sports games either (even though I am good at sports in real life). Not good at Gears and TPS games either (MP wise).

I'm good at all games in general especially FPS and racers. But not "skilled to the motherf**king core!". The longer I play a game, the better I get.

I was really skilled on Resistance: Fall of Man, I owned a lot of people on there. :P I'm also very good at Gran Turismo 5, I can go round corners beautifully in fast lap times.

I beat platformers by just jumping.
My skill at playing visual novels is that of an ace attorney's.
In WoW, I press buttons as they light up to DPS bosses like a boss.

[spoiler]

I'm decent at most games.
Don't expect me to pull off God-tier stuff though, especially in RTS' and fighters.

Usually in the top 3 on shooters like BF3. Have yet to find a single player game I cannot finish due to being difficult. Above average sure, but there are better players than me out there. I suck a bit at fighters though.

I'm not great at twitchy, reflex-based FPS games... average at best. But with games that have stealth elements that reward patience, I'm considerably above average. I excelled at the Assassins Creed multiplayer, for instance. But I'm average in most other types of games.

Before console online gaming and the interweb I was the best player in fighting games in my small group of friends. But now, seeing all these tourney's and also net play, I have a lot of work ahead of me :(

At least I can take solace in the fact that I have BB emblem in MGS4, completed GOW2 in NUR Titan difficulty and achieved SS rank on DMD DMC3.

Yeah I'm a pretty bad-ass gamer

I do really well wth SP games regardless of dificulties, but i tend to suck at MP. Actually the only MP games I haven't sucked complete asss at are Halo Reach and Splinter Cell Conviction(I am really good at the latter, though the game itself was meh so...:P)

I would say I am better than 90% of the PC community at BF3, but that is a guess. Could be higher or lower.

I suck at RTS games and Tetris lol, but I am good at just about everything else.

Oh and I used to be pretty good at Uncharted 2 and Tony Hawk, but those kinda dwindled a bit.
