I absolutly love Zelda, Mario and Metriod.. and metal gear series is not far behind those at all. FF, gears and halo are much lower then the rest though, but i still really like them.. I place FF above gears and halo mainly due to my love for FF 3(6), which is one of my favourite games of all time. I didn't enjoy Halo CE, but Halo 3 was alot of fun both in its SP and MP.. however i love gears gritty feel, incredibly unique feeling experience, and it's amazingly fun MP.. so i just have to place it above halo.

Fiirstly, that's not a great option to go by the series you picked out. I have no problem that you like those games, and in that order. But, Gears has only the one game... probably another game coming out eventually; but that's still only two, not really a "big franchise".

Hypothetically, if Gears makes an equally good games in the future, I would probably place it around Mario on my list.

These are my ranking for these franchises. From this only Metal Gear Solid I would classify as one of the best game franchises.

and thats it,

the main reason is that i dont own a wii not a 360 if i did then i might like metroid, halo, Gears and Zelda, but those franchises haven´t got me hyped in a long time

Personally, I still wouldn't consider that a franchise. That's just a critically acclaimed game getting a sequel. Once it hits three games, I think it can start to use the franchise card--mostly because I'd allow Halo to use it after the third game and the success it has had, it is definitely a franchise.
