Hugely hyped alleged 'AAA' game you have the least hopes for?

I'm sure for a lot of people the answer will be Uncharted 4, a game which I think will just be another Uncharted game with nominal gameplay improvements and better graphics well that will be enough for me.

Gears 4 I think will get similar abuse just for being Gears but I think it will also be an excellent game. But for me the standout LAMER title heading your way in 2016 is Quantum Break. The combat looks absolutely terrible. They don't seem able to decide if they want it to be Max Payne except you don't do anything except press a button or Alan Wake where combat is completely unimportant and you just press X and watch everything unfold.

I think this game is going to blow. Alan Wake was more a spectacle than a game in the first place, zero gameplay elements you just followed a story. And Max Payne was an actual game which the confused mess of special effects in QB trailers seems to be avoiding completely.

I just have a really bad vibe about this game. It's an Xbox One exclusive which means it will also end up on PC I predict this as non event of the year.

Gears of War 4 and Far Cry Primal.

There's a few that come to mind, but I'll go with the closest to release... and that is Far Cry Primal. From the get go, what I've seen of this game just hasn't done anything for me. It actually looks rather bland.

But I never fully judge a game until I play it for myself.

Horizon: Zero Dawn. It's graphically impressive, but I haven't been impressed like everyone else says. Plus, it's Guerilla. I'm hoping it surprises me.

Far Cry Primal easily. They've taken the aspects of FC3 and 4 that interested me the least and made a whole game out of it

I think Gears 4 will be fine. Game looked pretty epic to me. As long as they nail the gameplay, multiplayer, co-op and fun, it should be a huge success. Far Cry Primal will be hit or miss. I still want it though. . Still want Quantum Break as well. Hoping the TV aspect of it doesn't hurt the game though. Game looks incredible. Don't want it to end up like The Order 1886 though.

Seems you have a bad vibe with anything coming out on the XB1. What else is new?

AAA games don't really excite me very often. There's only one that I'm looking forward to out of the current and upcoming lineup (at least for Western AAA games).

Final Fantasy 15- no new game in the franchise has done it for me since it back an action rpg

Far Cry Primal.

I had no fun doing the tribal bull in Far Cry 4, so this game being nothing but tribal is lame.

If it hits this year I'm expecting the Last Guardian to dissapoint

Gears 4? Well, anything on Xbox One will eat shit for being on the Xbox One no matter if it's fucking awesome or not.

Hmm, I'll say the next Deus Ex, I thought Human Revolution was pretty overrated and I don't have high hopes for the sequel. Though, I'd bet it'll be a success nonetheless, and get high critical acclaim. Whether I'll like it, I'm doubtful. They didn't get the kind of critical reception needed to improve last game so doubt we'll see improvements here.

My hype for Persona 5 is diminishing. Not that I'm not going to get it, I know I'm gonna get it, I have to, loved other Persona games so this is just a given. Hell, it was the reason I got a PS4 to begin with, might not have bothered otherwise, not so soon at least. But, my excitement for the game is utterly gone at the moment. I was more psyched for it last year.

Uncharted 4 for sure, the franchise is just boring. Boring shooting, boring platforming, way too much story, etc.

The Last Guardian looks like trash to me. I don't understand why it has received so much hype, but I'm pretty certain I won't like it.

FF 15. I really want it to be good, but we've been down this road before.

Gears of War 4 is the perfect candidate. that's not the only game, tho. There's plenty of other titles

That game has been on/off in terms of development for years. I don't think that game will score to high, but it may end up a good,but kinda disappointing game.

Uncharted, Hitman and I have concerns about quantum break

The majority of these supposed AAA games look streamlined and shallow... as a result, there's a large list of upcoming games I simply don't care about. This list includes:

Fable Legends

I didn't include games which have little to no gameplay to pass judgement on, but I'm willing to bet you an arm, and a leg that Gears 4, Dishonored 2, Battlefield 2017 and Titanfall 2 will have no notable gameplay depth.

I'm holding my breath for Hitman. The trailers are looking good, but then again, so did Absolution's. I hope it doesn't disappoint as a this gen's tech could really enable a great killing sandbox to play around in.

The Legend of Zelda. It was looking very rough from the last gameplay demo. They have since reworked the project, but Nintendo has yet to impress me with it. I await the new reveal, but my expectations are low.

Dishonored 2 looks to be AAA. I sincerely hope DOOM lives up to the hype.

The Legend of Zelda.

That franchise has been over promising and under delivering for the better part of a decade with its 3d entries, **** it took them going back to Link to the Past and copy/pasting that overworld to finally make a legit great outing. I'm sure it'll do a lot of things well, but in typical Zelda fashion it'll be creatively bankrupt for starters and have that same brand of Zelda fluff that makes the game drag.

The one I expect the least from has to be Quantum Break. Alan Wake got very good reviews, but I was a bit let down. They gave up on story telling after the first couple of times explaining why Wake was going places only at night when the enemies were around and just skipping from finding out where he needed to go in the morning to actually going there at night. The combat after the first few fights just got boring with the enemies being bullet sponges only having to hit them with a flashlight (which needed constant reloading like a gun) instead of the little satisfaction of actually shooting. Then they released American Nightmare which got further away from narrative and focused more on the poor combat and was reviewed less well. Then they released Death Rally to a sad 62 metacritic. Now they're back to cinematic with live action (how could this go wrong? \sarcasm) cutscenes the length of a TV show season with the promise that your actions will affect the show segments. Kinda like how they said Alan Wake was going to be open world with a rich, explorable environment.

Uncharted 4 for sure... I dont see anything new to this game, and the other 3 were boring. These corridor shooters are not that fun to me.

Go to a doctor , fast. Its really sad when this is coming from a sheep , supossedly praises games with different approach and design than the usual. And then the second in your mind is Uncharted 4 , the only game that made people wow up till this very moment thru youtube, magazines , media etc ...

Hitman looks like a disaster in the making, Uncharted 4 leaves me completely cold, Gears of War 4 somehow looks worse to me than Judgement did, and Star Fox Zero will be a colossal flop.

In order , games that wont live up to their "AAA" standards and most probably will fail in the end IMO ( i hope im wrong )

Another Assassins Creed and Call of duty, mass effect 4, anything by EA or Ubisoft. or stuff like that we have seen 1000 times before.

The Last Guardian, to be completely honest it never looked like a good game to begin with and the demo during E3 just reaffirmed that, interesting artistic concept, but as a game it looks dull.

Uncharted 4, it just looks like a shallow action movie attempting to be comedic, the same as the other Uncharted games, they just never sucked me in.

Crackdown 3, the multiplayer and destruction will likely be fun, but the rest of it seems like it's going to be incredibly uninspired.

The Last Guardian is not an AAA candidate from the get go to begin with. It might meet AAA out of creativity , level design or awesome puzzles etc. People are calling out Uncharted 4 or any other game like it that offers one of the same and the same shit this and the same shit that. And then ... calling out TLG for being the worse of them all because ..what ? Because its NOT one of the same ? Its coming from one of the most unique studios in the world that made some of the most unique games ever ?

As for Uncharted 4 , you nailed it. Thats what it is. A cinematic action experience like no other game can offer. I dont get whats so bad about that. ALL games with that logic are the same !! And as long as it offers that in a fashion noone else can , literally , not only it wont fail to deliver AAA but will be a massive hit also. I get why people might not like it but i damn get why people love it at the same time. Also after that kind of multiplayer that looked really fun ... Oh boy. Im calling it now , anything below 9 at metacritic = flop.

All in all , there are way worse candidates than what you mentioned and soon we will know.

Why are you trying to create some form of a debate here, this is personal views of how we feel about games and our lack of faith in them delivering. This isn't a dialog, there is no right or wrong, you're not going to sway or convince anyone of anything, so just let things be.

Lets see:

• Zelda because it's been awhile since I've been wowed by a 3D Zelda title.
• UC4 because it looks nice but for some reason I'm still left unimpressed.
• TLG because of development hell, not much has been shown and outside most of the colossi boss fights, I didn't like SOTC.
• FFXV because it's Square.
• Star Fox Zero looks mediocre.
• Meh at Gears
• Horizon Zero Dawn because of guerrilla games.

That's it for now. Most of these games I'll probably end up buying anyway.

Quantum Break

Because it doesnt make sense to vote for TLG out of literally nothing when there are at least 6 candidates that are way more AAA caliber than TLG ever was in every aspect of development. Hell TLG can theoritically called even a last generation game !

Also there are way more games that fall under " one of the same shit " umbrella. So im not trying to start a debate but rather trying to understand how or why or what the hell is in peoples mind when calling TLG out as the game fits as an AAA caliber game next to uncharted 4 , Gran Turismo or Gears 4 or ... damn !

1. Quantum Break. Said from the start I don't think it will amount to much and anything less than AAA is going to be a flop. I'll even do a sig bet with someone on it (long time posters only please :P )
2. Gears 4, never been a gears fan, no way will this change my mind.
3. No man's sky, why was this ever hyped?
4. Uncharted 4. I actually think this will score well, but like gears not a fan. Played UC2 and for the life of me don't understand the love for the game. While this one has the best chance not to flop, hoping for some SW lulz.

The Last Guardian... I mean they still have shown so little of the game. And when has a game that has been in development for so long turned out half decent ? All I can think of is Half Life 2. But then again I'd never put the same faith in Team Ico than I did in Valve.

Besides, it looks like a PS3 game. And it's a PS3 game whose sole reason to be on a current gen console is its ridiculously long development time.
