Hyrule Warriors selling for...$600?

Yup thats right kids, the limited edition Hyrule Warriors game that everyone in NYC wen't crazy for is selling for about 600 dollars and rising.

That is pretty bonkers, whats crazier is that after Nintendo made an official statement saying they will not make or sell any more copies, the worth jumped tremendously. This kind of buzz is exactly what Nintendo needs right before the SSB launch and 4th quarter launch. Mind everyone that this was a game that everyone thought was going to bomb hard in the States. Seems like it is doing very well here.

So uhm... Artificial backorders? Besides thinking that keeping supplies low will increase demand, what do they stand to gain from this? Fooling shareholders?

Prices will rise. Then go to a tipping point, that's when everyone is trying to sell and the markets become flooded. Then it will begin to balance out and that's when it becomes a good time to buy it for a reasonable price. (Lot less than $600.)

@bldgirsh: Thats actually hard to determine. This is a true limited edition box set so the only people buying this are hard core video game collectors. The amount of circulation is limited because no further copies can be sold. If anything the price will actually rise, deflate a bit and stay at a pretty high sell rate.

The exact same thing happened to Xenoblade before Game Stop starting selling copies again.

It's a Nintendo exclusive which means it has 100% focus on great gameplay mechanics, and 0% focus on graphics.

As cool as that scarf and limited edition is, near 600 is no bueno. Happy with my vanilla version.

Its the NWS Limited Edition, not the standard game. No artificial demand, no attempts to fool shareholders.

I am pissed at myself for not jumping on this game. I just sold a Neo Geo game for $470. (SVC vs Capcom NeoGeo) I have a sealed copy of Xenoblade Chronicles and a sealed Destiny Ghost Edition for reference. I don't know how I let this game past my radar. The next Zelda game won't!!!

The Japanese Treasure Chest is a REAL collector's item.

The North American Limited Edition is just the European Limited Edition with a ESRB logo slapped on it. Not worth $600.
