I admit it. The Wii is a juggernaut.

The Wii has been out for over a year and its still sold at just about every store. Its also on every single top 5 hottest Christmas gifts in every major publishing magazine, newspaper, and website. The friggin thing is selling for over double its price on ebay! People are willing to pay more for a Wii then a 360 or PS3. Im still at awe at how well the Wii is doing this far into its life span. You might hate waggle and its poor selection of games but thinking that the Wii is a fad or will magically disappear wont happen. I hate the little white box but it looks like its here to stay.

It should have been dead by now according to the haters. I now want to know from them when will this fad die? Spring 08? Summer 08? Winter 08? Predictions anyone?

I just want the huge modern era games right now (GTAIV, Tekken 6, GT5), if the Wii was technically on pace with the other systems, I would have bought that instead of the PS3. Hopefully from all the sales theygetting from this generation, they can put into the development for their next-gen machine.

Its a sales juggernaut, but very poor in game titles and graphics, only has SMG to boast of an excellent title this year. If I were a casual, I would buy one.

They've been saying the Wii will fail ever since it was announced. The PS3's sales are just crap and the 360 has been taken over by Wii and it's only been out half the time. Yet, it's all still "Wait!", especially cows.

Apower house in hype, little else (even as an owner). Hope it expands it's software, especially 3rd party titles worth owning.

Common misconception. Wii has a strong lineup of games, as well as their VC selection. It has a lot to offer, haters choose to ignore it.

That's pretty much how I'm feeling.

Outside of the initial "OMG I'm playing with motion!" reactions I had when I brought the system home, the Wii has yet to wow me.

Yet it has very few titles that remotely appeal to me. I love SMG, MP3, etc, but one great game every few months is a bit sparring to me.

If I only owned a Wii, I would be very upset. However, I own all three consoles, so I can game through any companies individual lulls in games.

The wii is nowhere near the 360's game library, try comparing and its just not evenclose, sales is a diffrentstory.

People were lining up for tickle me elmos right along side the people who were waiting for a wii at launch at walmart. I'm not joking.

I wouldn't call the Wii a juggernaut...it just has massive casual appeal and the undying support of old skool ninty fans, as far as games are concerned I don't see what it does that the Gamecube didn't do (except the obvious motion controls and terrible casual "games")

It's the most poorly written review I've ever seen on a reputable professional gaming site. He knocked it for being too hardcore and not having multiplayer or Mii support. Yes, you read that right. He knocked it for not having mii support. How that review got past the other editors still blows my mind.

What I'm saying is that the Wii has more than enough in game selection to satisfy anyone who owns the system.

I did not mention comparing it to the 360.

Who said anything about 360 or PS3? I'd rather play FFT on my PS3 BC or FFTA on GBA, or Tactics Ogre on GBA, or....see where this is going? There are many titles that are great tactical games. You choose to assume I am talking only about the 360/PS3. There are other options, many of which are available readily and for much less than a 360/PS3 would cost.

Anyone who really knows the biz would be amiss to call the Wii anything less than a Jusggernaut. It came out of nowhere (I mean nowhere look at the Gamecube gee XD) and took first place in a year. Look at total Number of games comming out for the system this month compared the the other two systems it i scary have much this system has taken hold of the industry. You do NOT have to like to the Wii to see that it is a Juggernaut in the industry. But Oh boy is sure is. Developers are being forced to make Wii games just to have something on the system now. Yep Thats a Juggernaut.

I was pointing out that tickle me elmo was still selling out at Christmas. No where did I say that they were video games or video game consoles.

Yes. I hate the Wii so much I own one and play on it. I hate it so much that I've raved about SMG since I bought it.

I hate the Wii so much...it just eats me up inside. I only keep the Wii so I can exercise my sadistic side by staring at that hateful little white box as it laughs at me. The Wii also killed my girlfriend and poisoned my cat.

Yeah you have a point. My brother works in the industry and thats really what everyone is talking about. Pressure is being put on ALL 3rd parties to have Wii offerings ready for this upcomming year, much more so than the other consoles. In addition you can make a Wii game for 1/2 the cost as a Ps3 game or 360 game this is going to being the Wii FAR ahead of everyone else. Sorry to all the fan boys that forget that this is actually a buisness.

Oh cool becuase i HAVE played this game unlike this guy im sure and I know its a great game period. I think what people fail to understand is that there are not all that many games of this type (sorry im not into the world war type, so thats 9 out of 10 of them lol)

Please. Your opinion does not trump mine to me. Nor does it trump professional game reviewers, many of them.

If you really like Tactical RPGs, you need to play Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics. Simple as that. Those two franchises are TRPG bench-setters.

It has a 8.0 average. Please tell me what Strategy options are there on 360 or Ps3 that are better rated than 8.0 average? Woops there are none your bad.

SpruceCaboose

Who said anything about 360 or PS3? I'd rather play FFT on my PS3 BC or FFTA on GBA, or Tactics Ogre on GBA, or....see where this is going? There are many titles that are great tactical games. You choose to assume I am talking only about the 360/PS3. There are other options, many of which are available readily and for much less than a 360/PS3 would cost.

This guys a huge Wii hater, I see him in every Wii related post.

Wow really? Thats so odd bro! The Sega 32X killed my Girlfriend and poisoned my Cat!!! lol (and i think the Ps3 is a failure now the 32X THAT is how failure is done proper!)

You actually do hate it, and flame it in basically every post of yours on this forum. I've been watching you.

Thats nice unless you beat those games years ago. (that would be me) now what were you saying? Nothing as usual. See you were about to tell me what Game that is out recently is similar but better. (PSP remakes just dont cut it sorry been there done that) See Fire Emblum is the best of whats around this yearof this kind of game period.

You are the type that would say that FF13 will PWN mass effect and that is why not to get Mass effect. Yes we know that kind. But the trouble is that some of us want to play something good now. Not in 2009.

I liked the 32X. I still own my 32X. T-Mek was a fantastic game. Contrary to what that Ninty fanboy said about me (check his posting history for yourself if you doubt my claims), I own and love all three current gen systems. I am critical of them when I feel its needed, but I also give all of them credit when credit is due. And you can check my post history, as mine clearly speaks for itself.

I love TRPGs as well, and Fire Emblem on GBA was great. This new one, i played it a bit, not sure I like it. However, I highly suggest you play FFTA if you haven't yet, or Tactics Ogre. You will lose many dozens of hours in those games.

Outside TRPGs, I don't like JRPGs. However, I will give Fire Emblem another shot if you feel that I should. Its rare to find someone who appreciates TRPGs on this board. I need more money before I can buy a copy (stupid holidays) but I should get enough post-holidays to grab one.
If you did beat FFT/FFTA like you said, how does this Fire Emblem stand up in the long run (hours +) in to those games?

Not sure you liked it? What about it are you on the fence about? Its JUST like the GBA ones (and i mean JUST like them) Play it more and get back to us I can assure you it is one of the best in the series.

By the way i HIGHLY recoment getting Gamefly! Its just like netflicks they send the games to your house and you play it beat it and but in in the mail and they send you a new game when your ready for one its awsome. Im on the 3 game at a time plan and i beat ALOT of games that way. I find this saves me a TON of money. And you can but the games right off the sight if you liked them.

You have my word. After the holidays when I can afford games again, I will pick up a copy. Not like we get flooded with TRPGs! :D

I keep hearing about them. Whats the 3 game play run? And are the turn around times acceptable?

If only there were some "hardcore" games out for it that are both good and not exclusively catered to the Nintendo lover type.

I think The Force Unleashed it the only game I'd consider buying a Wii for.

I hate the little white box but it looks like its here to stay.Carmilla31

I agree, its like Halo, the game is good, but not great, but the hype surronding it is off the scale, the 360 and PS3 are better gaming systems by far, but the Wii has the hype

The Wii, has an intresting control sceme, but in the next few years, the huge titles will not be on the Wii, due to technical restraints, and don't expect Madden to change at all, it will be PS2's verson of madden for 5 more years
