and my 4th one seems to be doing fine for NOW !!!!!!!!!!

should've gotten a warranty at a local store.

but otherwise, yes, the xbox360 does suffer from the occasional reliability problem

i dont think it matters how many post you have i got up to i think level 5 or 6 not sure without posting anything i think it all depends on how much you are on this site

I bought a 360 thinking Sony was crazy to introduce a console for $600.The 360 has great games and graphics and its cheaper.BUT...things started to go bad after that though.It all started with the RED RING of Death on my 360 I hade for 3 Month's. Ups came about a week later with my replaciment console I pluged in my new 360 and tured it on and well.......the 360 intro screen came up and it was a mess the video was all garbled I tuned the console of and checked to make sure every thing was pluged in right turned it on again but I got the some thing in desperation I did this about 5 times and finally i got decent video.I was concered though and called Microsoft and they told me they would replace that one ,THE ONE I'VE HAD FOR 2 DAYS!!!! so I agreed and I went through the whole shiping and repair process again.Ups show's up with my 3rd console I plug it in and I worked fine........UNTILL I tried to open the disc tray that's when I heard the sound....SCREEEEEECH I put a game that I didn't care much for the see if it would scratch the disc no scratches and the game did work but that horrable noise continued every time I opened and closed the disc tray.I called Microsoft they said they wou.......well you know the story.I got my 4TH CONSOLE by UPS and im pleased to say that this one is still working.That wasn't the end of my dissapointment though I found out in short order that all my content downloads only worked when I was online and sighned in to xbox live aparently content downloads are locked to the first console they are downloaded on.I had one more dissapointment when I played GEARS OF WAR it was a awsome game great grphics and game play but...it was really short 6hrs on normal.$60 for 6 hrs come on!!!! yes there is some replay value becuse of the online play but still its really short.So I went by the theory that the simple explanation is the right one...The game was short becuse they ran out of space to put a longer game or it was made short on porpose so the could chare foe aditional content later ether one really suck's.I can't really go on anymore but long story not to long I got a PS3 and had none of the problems I've had with my 360 ,some softwhere problems but they where all fixed with updates,and I'd rather have soft where problems that can be fixed with updates then have hrdwhere problems the have be repaired at a repaire place. mj53916

 Great post. Just as a little advice: They have a spell check function. Please use it in the future. Also proof reading is a plus as well. Glad you're happy with your PS3. So I emailed M$ and they said "Shut up nub buy more 360's". Ok, so I went to the store got 7 more and then I gave them to all the homeless kids in my area. Before I got home I saw like a big red ring in the sky. It looked like the batman signal. So I rushed over and saw all the homeless kids crying. I asked what happened and they were like "teh 360 red rings shocked lil jonny, now he is deadz0rs." So I was like "oh noes!!" Then I picked up the 360, held it high in the air and screamed "Damn you M$, damn you to helll!!"

My launch 360 failed in June of 06, M$ sent me a brand new one and no problems.....  Yes they do and can fail but some of these claims are a bit outrageous.  :shock:

    Yes its a wall of text to throw my xbox 360 from.And yes I have a 360 and a really am on my 4th one just because your 360 still works doesn't mean that I'm lying about my unfortunate situation. My buddy just had his 360 die to after months of giving me crap about my bad luck. The number of bad 360's is staggering everyone knows this even  fanboys so quit saying i'm lying it's unfortunite too the xbox 360 is a great system.

     Microsoft also did it's part to make thing's bad by locking downloaded content to the console it was downloaded on.Yes you can re-download downloaded content you already own, but if it's on a another console you still have to be sighned in to xbox live and be online to use the content in games.Now that the new xbox system is coming out with a bigger hard drive you have to pay $175 for a bigger hard drive if you already own the old 360 system becuse heven forbid you could use any hard drive besides the propriotary hard drive you have to buy from mirosoft.

I love how cows try to justify their $600 purchase by telling us that their (non existent) 360 broke. Atleast while my 360 is alive, I can play some games. Also, do you forget the infamous "DISC READ ERROR" that tons of PS2s faced? Give the Poopstation 3 a little time, and it'll start breaking down. :)Kojak8888

However you want to spin it is fine with me.  Unforunately the threads I posted aren't fake.  Fact.  Btw, the launch 360's were breaking from day 1.  As of yet I haven't seen the type of threads on the PS3 forums about their console breaking like there was when the 360 was launched.  Have you?

Lol I know!  Though it's not very funny these guys are being screwed over so badly right now.  I do find it funny how lemmings defend their systems on forums like these but avoid the official forums like the plague because there are so many pissed of MS customers on them lol!

 Right...what good are games if you have don't have a console to play them on?  Lol.  Did you even READ some of those threads that I posted?  Games aren't the issue here, unreliable products are thank you very much.  The mere fact that you didn't address my posts gives you no creditbility on this thread.

As the TC stated, he swapped his 360 for a PS3 due to the 360's unreliability, something which I've shown isn't a one-off.  As a matter of fact there are 360 owners who admit that it's not the most reliable console on the market right now.  Your random outburst about games has nothing to do with the actual console except for the fact that when you send your 360 off for repair you can't play your games at all.

Meh. I'm still on my first. Even with all of the defective 360's out there and other problems, It still doesn't make Sony's current lineup attractive to me. I'd rather not have all of the issues, but I'll be damned if I'm dropping 600 bucks on a system with a library as weak as the PS3 has right now.

Luckly if anything happens, I have a Wii, PS2 and a PC to tide me over...I understand not everybody is that fortunate though. even if I decided to switch I wouldn't come here to post a thread in system wars though as it would serve absolutely no purpose and is really attention whoreish. Although I'm not calling ther TC a fakeboy, It is a big fakeboy move.
