Which one should I get?

There is no reason to get a PS3 over 360. It has better games and no one can deny that. darkmario123
yea I am wondering why all the replies before this one say PS3
360 is the OBVIOUS choice
unless your going to sell the PS3 then use that money to buy a 360 and moar games

Maybe he doesn't want a system that will mostly likely break at least once within a year of his purchase?
Well, to be honest, I am leaning towards the PS3. But with 360 fanboys somehow spread across gaming sites ranting the end of Sony, I am...AFRAID.xXEnvyOurLoveXx
the end of sony will come, but i doubt in our lifetime. the 360 defintely has the best line up of games right now and for the rest of 07 imo, but then again the ps3 has a good line up as well, an ok line up for 07, but 08 looks much better. also depends if or what last gen systems you own for backwards compatibilty for example.
If most people on this board say PS3, will you take a PS3 just on their word? Or will you make the decision by yourself? If you want to know what the best console is, research. Going into a forum board and getting 20 guys' opinions where half of them just gave an answer to screw with you and the other half just said their favorite console isn't going to tell you which you should get.
/end rant.
Eh, manning, I follow gaming websites rather well and know the strengths and weaknesses of both consoles, I just want to see what everyone else thinks.
I'll go out of the way and say it, I dont like first person shooters. xXEnvyOurLoveXx
Well, both consoles haveplenty ofFPSes, so a dislike for them wouldn't really put one system over the other.
I still say PS3, just because it has much more reliable hardware, can do much more out of the box than the 360, and the onlien is free, so you wouldn't have to spend anything on anything. All you'd need to buy is the games.
That sounds reasonable. Any particularly lengthy games on the PS3 this holiday season? I mean robust 30-60+ hour games. xD I know ussually those dont come in untill later into a products lifetime, but ya.
The 360 being out a year earliar means its robust 40+ hour games are coming in faster. What do I do while I wait?
Nothing is free in this world. Take my advice and lock your doors and windows if you accept the offer.

Well, Oblivion is out, assuming you don't already have that, and Folklor, a rather intriguing JRPG, is coming out this Fall as well. Both of those should last you a good long while.
Then they have the usually mentioned games in the works for the Fall - R&C5, Uncharted, Lair, Heavenly Sword, etc. etc.
IMO a PS3. Reliable, Great 2007 lineup, and free online.0rin
Or get a 360. Also reliable(if you keep it well ventilated and don't act like a schmuck and move the console while games/discs are being read), much better 2007 lineup(Mass Effect, Halo 3, and a superior version of GTA IV just to name three), and much better online that gives you flexible payment options(subscriptions range from $7-50).
Is there a reason why 360 is "obvious"? Other then having more games. I think people are being blinded by a year's head start, the 360 didnt have that many games in its first year either.Considering I will get more "free" for getting a PS3, what exactly justifies a 360 over a PS3 when both are at $0.
No offense, but that's kinda dumb. Do we blame the PS2 for having a years head start? And does that make any difference? The result outweighs the reason. And the result is that the 360 has the bigger and better gaming library, with a higher-than average percet chance of multi-plats performing and/or looking better on the 360. It also has great exclusives already, and the best is only yet to come. Meanwhile with the PS3, most of it's hyped exclusives are unproven franchises. If you want a console that has good exclusive games now, as opposed to the pathetic "you gais just wayt lolol sony wil show u guys nex yeer" excuse the cows have been giving people for a year and half, get the 360. 360 launched with great games, added good exclusives to it's library, and it's most anticipated titles are still not even here yet. Meanwhile PS3 launched with multi-plats that were mostly inferior to their 360 counterparts, and has a buncha lame exclusives like Motorflop.
Point is, unless you want a Blu-Ray movie player, get the 360. Or get the PS3 and sell it and then buy a 360 and some games, like other people suggested.
Good point, anyone want to refute that statement?
One thing to say though, the Xbox never proved itself years down the line after the PS2's head start. We havnt given the PS3 time to prove itself. =o That's why we dont blame the PS2's head start for the Xbox's second place.
ps3,its more expensive, then u buy a 360wiistation360I second that...or, you could sell the PS3 if you really dont want it and just take the money.
Halo3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Unreal 3, PGR4, COD4, Forza 2, Fabel 2,GTA IV,Army of Two,Blue Dragon,Eternal Sonata, HL2:Orange Box are on Xbox 360.
PS3 does have..Killzone 2, MGS 4, DMC4(on 360), Heavenly Sword..and a few more.
Note: A lot of these games are also on PS3 but these games, like most other multiplatform games are BETTER on Xbox 360.
Xbox 360 also has a better online service, IMO.
I would go with Xbox360.
=o I dont understand why you think up the biggest list of 360 games, and then list 4 PS3 games, this confuses me very much and I dont understand this logic. Also, you mainly listed shooters. Bleh.

Here's a list to counter his 360 list (it includes 08 titles and multiplatsjust like his):
Exclusives:
MGS4, FFXIII, FFVXIII, White Knight Story, Ratchet & Clank 5, Tekken 6, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, Haze (exclusive for now), Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, Socom: Confrontation, Folklore, Wardevil: Enigma, and a bunch more
Multiplats:
GTAIV, DMCIV, CoD4, RE5, HL2: Orange Box,UT3 (timed exclusive for ps3, yet he pt it in his 360 and left it off the ps3s list), and even more that I can't think of...

Yeah, better on the 360. ~cough cough R6V DirT~
Katamari was recently announced as a 360 exclusive. Should I be worried that more titles will go exclusive instead of multiplatform?xXEnvyOurLoveXx
Heavy Rain and Wardevil: Enigma were once multiplat but are now ps3 exclusive, due to publishing issues.
Katamari is so far the only game that i have seen go from multiplat to 360 exclusive, and that was because they did not want to rearrange their engine around the Cell, a rare occurance.
So no, i wouldn't be too worried about this.
That comment makes no sense to me. Since you think that the ps3 has the better games, in order for the 360 to be overall more appealing, I can only assume that you prefer it's hardware to the ps3's hardware.
Did you miss all the reports of the 360's 33% failure rate and the Red RIng of Death?
The 360 is a console prone to breaking, that also has numerous annoying external add-ons. Wi-fi sticks out the back of the consol and costs $100, and the power brick is massive. The ps3, however, has everything in one nice, neat package. Blu-Ray, wi-fi, SD card readers, and the power supply are all nicely contained in one sleek (and semi-transparent, though most don't notice this) black box.

That's simple. Value.
If he hates it he can still sell it and get a 360 since the PS3 is WORTH MORE. He can't do the reverse.
Whatever the most expensive console is, take it. That's just pure common sense.
The Fanboy in you didn't think this through.

I think it's rather pathetic that I've seen you talk about failure rates in every thread I see you in. Is that you're only argument? You also pull out a list of games that most of which won't be out for a long time, and then you tack on a buncha obscure titles to the list simply because they're exclusive, but not because they have any merit. 360 has the better games now, and it's going to stay that way thanks to titles like Halo 3 and Mass Effect, and thanks to the fact that 3rd parties notice the 10+ mil installed base of the 360. We also have no clue what titles MS have up their sleeve for '08, but sure hits ilke Halo Wars will be amongst them. It's great that the PS3 has everything in one nice package, but it doesn't even matter considering it's lacking any good exclusive games. And I'm talking now, not a year from now. The 360 didn't need a year or so to get good games, it had them from launch and it's exclusives are getting only better and bigger, meanwhile the PS3 still hasn't proved itself. It was getting outsold by the Game Boy Advance.
xXEnvyOurLoveXx is that Utada Hikaru in your Avatar? she is less than three, lol Im listening to her right now actually
