Because Bioshock can easily be a 20 hour game in the first run through if you thoroughly explore. a 10 hour game at $60 is a poor value.XaosII
Actually, no, it can't, unless you explore needlessly (I mean going over a place you've already emptied several times over for no reason). I beat it, getting nearly everything is just over 10 hours, and that with no walkthrough. It's a good game, but it really isn't a good value.

Whast to explore? it was as linear as every other shooter with some secret passages, nothing more, I dare say it was more linear than most FPS games.
And it was a great game, it also doesn't have any multiplayer of any kind, and it scored very well across the boards, I just dont understand why people are trashing games because of length and no multiplay games like heavenly sword or uncharted.catlin_czirrBioshock actually had a story and was original.

um hello! you apparently are no rpg player at all.
You didnt check every single crate? you didnt hack every machine? you didnt even get every little sister?
My first play lasted me 30 hours. Rented it
Im the type of person who takes 100 hours on a 50 hour rpg
i also wonder also. i beaten BS in 10hurs though.
lt-rickhunter
Heavenly Sword can also be 20+ hours if you explore and do the side quests. So whats you point.
But I will say that I liked Bioshock more 8)

I saved every little sister, I opened pretty much everything, I played every tape and it was under 10 hours easily.
Bioshock is no RPG .. Its an FPS with a Hacking mini-game, "Magic Grenades" and a bunch of tonics that make the game drivel ( 2 shotting every splicer with the wrench and 2-3 shotting Big Daddies with grenade launchers ... excellent... ) and that was on normal.
I got bored of hacking half way through, so I decided to 2 shot all the security cameras and turrets with the wrench!
No way in hell is that an RPG. Linear Corridor Hybrid shooter.

Bioshock was a 20 hour game for me, I took the time to find most of the diaries and listen to them to get a better understanding of how all **** broke loose in Rapture. If you are beating the game in 8 hours, you clearly aren't getting the full experience.

Thats not true at all, I'm fast with FPS games, since ive hardcore played them for years now, yea I plowed through it, but I got everything I'm pretty sure.

Wow are you seriously trying to say Heavenly Sword doesnt havea good story?

i never meant to imply it was a rpg jsut that if you were a true rpg gamer youd take a lot more time on it
i agree though, i too did smash every camera after a whiile. got boring

Heavenly Sward wasnt good enough to make up for its length and as for uncharted who knows.
I beat Bioshock in about 81/2 hours first playthrough. That game would've been longer if the game wasn't so damn easy. Great game though. Uncharted looks like it'll be rather difficult (like all Naughty Dog games are. Jak 2 was brutal.)cornlockesBut Jak 3 wasn't too bad. :P

Its sad many people havent playeda great game like HS! I havent played the whole Bioshock game yet but if you can beat it in 8 hours and HS is 7, Why are the scores so different?

You better not be comparing the 2 in terms of quality....
HS is a good game, but BioShock is superb.
Why do people care so much about length? You're still getting a good value for your money even all the way down to 6 hours. A brand new movie costs $20 and offers ~2 hours of entertainment; exactly comparable to a 6 hour game in value.
Besides, it sucks when games are too long. Many games involve fairly repetitive actions, and doing them over and over again for 20+ hours can get pretty irritating unless there's a great story to keep you engaged. And even then, it's extremely difficult to stretch a game story out that long and keep it interesting the whole way through. There's bound to be filler.
People who complain about BioShocks length probably just ran through it on Easy.
Didn't pay attention to the story. Didn't explore anything. Didn't hack, upgrade, or invent anything.
If you played bioshock like a boring fps, then yeah, it took you 8 hours. that's your fault.
If you played it the way it was MENT to be played, you could spend hours and hours on it.
