Haven't u guys seen how many Firmware sony has released to improve our beloved PS3!!!

e.g In 2.50 sony stuck in a recovery console so we can fix it ourself to some extent if our hard drive becomes corrupted and so many great firmwares before that.

Ps3 is just improving and improving. The games library are getting bigger and better with more delicious games to come. So why not home? if it sucks ( debatable ) or isn't that great now, it will improve over time but its a start and we should be happy we are atleast getting something for Free, instead of criticizing it :)

There are tons of possibilites with home it can actually become a huge virtual social network considering the PSN registrations are over 10 million!!!

GO SONY, all power to them!!! I hope they come out on top and we reclaim our rightful position as No 1 :)

Ok, now remember all the things they have cut from the PS3... keep that thought, .. ok now think of home. Beign cut and reduced to its functional basics. The rest is just bloat and boredom.

i don't think so. I belive it will improve in the aspects that it has solid right which is the soicalizing. Home is a socializng network and not a gaming network. That is also why its not made to replace the ps3's main interface and such. Home will be fine but not amazing. Go to the other SW home related threads and read posts in there.

the things they have cut are insignificant u can buy a usb card reader to use them on the ps3, the new 80 gb is stable than the previous versions, BC is big deal when u have ps2 and ps3 upscaled games aren't that great but the upscaled dvds are amazing +1

I don't think Home alone (no pun intended :P) will propel PSN pass XBL. Of course there are things and features that Home has and can add that XBL won't have. I think Sony needs to make PSN and its features more unified and add things like cross-game invites/chat on the XMB to make it a better competitor (not that it isn't already). Also, features already available like screen-capturing and youtube uploading needs to become STANDARD. Just like trophies.

Considering your system is trying to play catch up to a better service... and the other service gives itself two annual updates each year... why does it matter that Sony gives me something big from say 2.40 to 2.50 then a small incremental update to fix security patches or some tweaks to playback functionality with 2.52? Regardless, it's not bad that Sony keeps churning out updates, but MS gives some significant updates everytime too. They just keep it more organized and give you it when it's less than buggy or more than ready I should say. (Note: All updates still can cause bugs or crashes, that's always going to happen for the most part when you mess around with something like that...)

Live/The Xbox interface is evolving at a much higher rate than PSN so like the sales, the PS3 is never going to catch up.

lolz, yes home is to be a half baked second life for those people and with its mixed functionality it will at most medium rare. the people who like the networking should get on a pc if they really just want touse home for its social aspects and not gaming launching from apartments(or use myspace or facebook lol)...because thats really all it has thats useful that is has regarding actual ps3 games....the game roomsare useless (atm at least)!!!

Home is definitely an extension to the PSN service. It's a social networking app with a gaming specific core utilizing features that can connect gamers and affect their games. Right now its in its infancy (seeing as its a persistent service), that will no doubt evolve and become something really special and imperative for a desired gaming/social experience. I like the prospect of Home and look forward to using it extensively :).

I believe Home will improve over time, that's about it.  The thing is Home is still optional.  What they really need to improve is PSN itself.  I mean it's cool to goof around in Home, I like doing those sort of things, but it shouldn't be taken seriously especially when compared to Xbox LIVE.  I mean it's kinda hard trying to set a match together while you have random people walking up to you and starts doing the robot.

I have no doubt that Home has the "potential" to be better then live but I don't think it will ever reach that point. If Sony had a set gameplan on what they plan to initiate with Home I think they would be a lot more successful but as it stands right now, it seems kind of boring. Lets hope I'm wrong because I see so much creativity thats just itching to be unleashed in the beta.

i don't think anything sony come out with in the online stakes will match any sort of microsoft online, microsoft where doing online before sony released there first console, they invented the first standardised web browser, you can;t just make up that many years of experience in the space of two years, MS will always be years ahed in experience in this area, and do you think NXE is the last upgrade? think again, everytime PSN gets close to matching XBL it will pull away again, i'm sorry but anyone who thinks that sony can do in '5 minutes' what it has taken MS years to get to is dilusional at best.and free stuff is never as good as the stuff you pay for.

Filthcakes

Can I castrate this guy? I don't know why, but Sony fanboys seem to be the most blind, arrogant jackasses who believes that everything should go to Sony. I'm for the game industry as a whole, go Sony, but go Microsoft, and go Nintendo.

what makes u think i am arrogant? mr FILTHCAKE ,nice name... i never said anything bad about other systems did i? i just said that home will become awesome because sony will make it better eventually and what language are u using? is this the way to speak? mr FILTHCAKES nice name though.. shows how u think, anyways..

1st, there are far less than 10 million that uses psn with their ps3

some say it's around 7million and remember, psp doesn't have HOME

2nd. the reason why sony needs to keep updating their firmware is because there are glitches that they have to fix, remember that whole firmware update that made everyone's ps3 kookoo? so they had to come out with a new one within few days?

and 3rd, a game wouldn't improve with HOME, you think HOME could improve haze or Lair?

I love how cows always believe their platform's features will improve over time while the 360 will stay at a standstill. Especially when the 360 has evolved the most out of the two.
