I know this topic is about a year late, lol, but i just bought a 360 recently. I rented gears just to check it out + in anticipation of ut3, and while i enjoyed the single player, im really disappointed with online. Its boring and slow. Why only eight players? Its farther crippled by having no deathmatch, so essentially you have a maximum of four players that you are able to shoot. What an anti-climatic experience.rarsi123
Yeah but only eight players?? come on... i watched one of the reviews saying it wasn't a problem, because all the maps were designed around this number, but it is a huge problem, especially if your playing with less than 8. No online game should offer less than sixteen, preferably 24-32.
PS This is not a troll attempt. I enjoyed the single player, I Have no PS3, and i also have no halo, nor am i interested at the moment in even renting it.
am I the only one that LOVED GeoW online?:?-Sniper99-
No I loved GeoW online one of the best MP games I have ever played.
The multiplayer is actually very intense. It's based around squad combat, you have to work with your team. It's not your average run and gun quake 3 shoot em' up jump off the walls and spray and pray crap.
I haven't played Gears in a while but it's a great game online, offline too. I like halo 3 better though ;)

If you don't like the multiplayer, stop whining and play something else, seriously. I personally loved the eight person online because it made it strategic, if you like the run and gun games though, go play them, have fun.
only 16 players max really sucks. i don't know why they won't make it like 32 or something, don't you guys pay for XBL?

Im new to online shooters, so am still in the run and gun phase lol!!. Rainbow six is also a tactical online game and a little slow, but it provides some really fun close quarter fire fights. The extra number of players makes a huge difference, and i found it to be much better than gears

Look troll. We aren't even talking about Halo yet you bring it up. I guess you are that jealous. But anyways Perfect Dark Zero has 32 player online.
And yes we pay for XBL, it's much better than your PSN where you don't even know what your friends are doing and can't even jump in their games or do cross game voice chat whilst doing anything.

Man the graphics in Perfect Dark suck! And what's with needing the RAM pack to play all of the levels?????
Back on topic. What's wrong with 4v4? Except for Big Team Battle, aren't all of Halo's MP 4v4? Sorry you don't like Gears, but you are in the minority.

(i) its boring and slow. Maps are also too big for 4 v 4.
(ii) i have never played halo, so have no idea what your talking about, but from what i gather it does offer atleast one game mode with 16 players
(iii) I never said i didnt like gears, just im not impressed with the online component

thanks for reading the line that's not there. when did i mention Halo 3? and judging by your post, you obviously never even touched the PSN once.
you lems are so funny, always dodge the question by redirecting to something else. so how about directy face the question and tell me why Geow don't support more than 16 players online?Game13a13y
I don't know, but I need to know how many people can play UT3.
I loved it at first, but after playing it a bunch of times idk it lost its touch quick. Let me mind you i dont own a 360, and own a ps3, but i will admit it was fun while it lasted(bout a month). Honestly what i think did it was rainbow stole its thunder for me.
