I can't believe I am saying this, but I am more excited for the new Forza Motorsport than I was for GT7.

I have always been a massive fan of the GT series. I have created hype threads here in the past for GT5. My excitement for the game dwindled when I found out about the pay-to-win mechanics. Also, the PS5's lineup has been disappointing and I still don't have one (FF16 doesn't seem good enough for me to drop $500).

This brings me to the new Forza Motorsport. This game looks super clean and I will be able to crank up the graphics to my liking (recently upgraded to an RTX 4080 for work). While I still do think the lighting and material sim in GT7 looks way better than the new FM, I am more than okay with skipping this one for the time being. The only way I am playing the new Gran Turismo is if it comes to PC. Console exclusives suck.

Forza has been better than GT for many years now and this new one looks like a nice evolution for the racing genre in general.

I only dabble is sim racers, but yeah. Find myself enjoying Forza games more than GT, and the new one looks fantastic.

But I'd take Forza Horizon over either of them, so maybe you don't want my opinion :)

Haha, I wasn't too surprised. And I've moved on from my MacBook to an RTX 4080 PC, so I have no need for cloud gaming at the moment.

Yeah Forza Horizon is probably my favorite racing series right now. FH5 is fun as heck.

I've clocked in 10 hours of GT7 and honestly, it just feels lifeless. From the text that you have to read instead of voice acting to the elevator music in the background. There really isn't a true identity to the sim.

I enjoyed the first GT game but ever since Forza Motorsport first came out that quickly became my favourite racing sim. Am definitely hyped for this upcoming new FM game.

If it doesn't have a VR mode I'm not interested. Racing games on flat tvs feels so weird now after playing GT7 in VR. Feels like I'm sitting in the backseat trying to drive. And if you're playing drone view from the rear, how's that even a sim then.

Well I can believe I'm going to say this.

MS wants AUS $119.95 for the STANDARD digital version. MS can **** off at that price.

I will most likely find a physical copy for $89, but if I can't, then I'm not buying it until it drops in price.

I'm usually more of a Forza Horizon player but the Forza progression and upgrade system made me want to play it. I love RPGs and somehow they created what looks like the first racing RPG

If I had a significant bottleneck in a lot of games, I would upgrade my CPU. That isn't the case. My 5950X and 4090 combo still puts me in the top 1% of all gaming PCs and annihilates the consoles.

I haven't seen anything about the new Forza that makes me super excited. I'm not super excited about having to level up your car before you can buy certain parts for it.

There's only one person on this forum that plays these garbage games, and that's mostly because he is overheating under the Australian sun.

In short. Just enjoy the high-risk rewards of being a PC gamer. No, you do not need the top of the line spec like Bass. A simple $1,000 PC can give you more then any current-gen consoles can dish out.

And I ain't one of those PC enlist. I just want to play games at a higher framerate and have...FUN!!!

I've played Forza 4 on 360 and Forza 6 Apex and Forza 7 on PC. I played 7 with a wheel. Both controller and wheel didn't feel right to me. The physics felt more like an arcade than a sim which is what I prefer. Multiplayer was never fun for me either since most drivers online don't put much effort into clean racing.

This next Forza hasn't shown me what's different about it in those aspects. They say the simulation is better but they haven't actually shown it.

FM8 is gonna have Raytracing and that has peak my interest...for the moment at least until I see more later on. I usually purchase Forza Horizon games but never for Motorsports. I'm not a fan of Game Pass but for FM8, I'll make it exception for that game.

@Zero_epyon: On this Forza I have been trying not to find out much about it. I want to experience it with fresh eyes.

Maybe you should stick to GT if it doesn't feel sim enough for you. I drive with all assists off (maybe you should do the same if you haven't already) it might feel a bit better. Other than that it just comes down to what you like.
