I can't choose between a 360 or ps3. HELP?

Well, here's the story. I have had my 360 for about a year and a half now and of course it got the 2 rings of death. Where after five minutes of playing it it overheats and shuts off. Now I was going to send it in for repair but then I started doing some research and many of my friends said that I should get a ps3 instead. I mean the ps3 has so many more features. But Halo was the first game I ever played and I don't want to throw away my xbox for a ps3 if the Halo series is going to continue only on the 360. And i'm also tired of paying for xbox live. Where Playstation Network is free. Also, if I fix the 360 there is no doubt that it will get the rings again.Now here are the games I would be missing out on with the ps3. inFAMOUS, Metal Gear Online, Resistance 2, God of War 3, Uncharted 2 Among Thieves, Metal Gear Solid 4 and possibly 5, Killzone 2, and playstation home. Now here are the game I would be missing out on with the 360. Halo ODST, Halo Reach, (Possibly Halo 4) Singularity(maybe), Splinter Cell Conviction, Gears of War 3(maybe), and ARMA 2. PLEASE HELP!!!!???? I really want a ps3!!! But i'm not sure.

You'll soon discover that there's more than Halo out there , and you'll be playing all those great ps3 games online and you'll wonder why you didn't switch sooner.

If you already have a PC then you won't be "missing out" on many of those Xbox 360 "exclusives". Get a PS3.

I know it doesn't cost money to keep them but i only have money to A. Repair the xbox and don't get a ps3 or B. Trade in my xbox at gamestop, use my money and my store credit to get an 80GB ps3.

If you've only had the 360 for a year and a half you're probably still under warranty. If you're not, your first post makes it seem like a PS3 is right for you. The way I see it the only think holding you to the 360 is Halo, which you could quickly forget about.

Sounds like you should switch to the PS3.

we all wii has 09 covered as well as 2010 , and the 360 has more games then ps3 overall

Yea man, because Halo is the best series ever :roll:. I have an Xbox, love it, but people seriously need to get over halo it is just a mediocre shooter IMO.

As for which to get, go for the one that has the games you want. The repairs are free so you should just repair the xbox and buy a PS3 or go to your friends house and try theirs out and see what you like best. I would still stick with xbox if you can only get one stick with the Xbox.

As much as I'd hate to be in that situation myself, I support the idea of not switching consoles, as you probably alreadyhave a nice library built up since you got your 360 and by switching it'd mean you'd have to start all over.

Repair the 360 and if you're really considering a PS3 save up and get the Slim one. With the current price, there's no reason to not get one seriously.

Unless you're really fed up with the RROD issues that is as they will never go away.

Well, certianly they both have their amazing games. I think you'll find that there's much more out there than Halo and frankly, Halo isn't even the best FPS out there. I own both a PS3 and Xbox 360. I like both of them but I've played my PS3 more. Given the luck you've had with your Xbox 360, I'd suggest giving the PS3 a try. I know I'd ditch my Xbox 360 if it gave me that kind of problems.

Imo 360 lineup is better by a laaarge margin. still looks like you are interested in some PS3 features. Well, i cant decide for you but IMO games >>>> features any day especially if we are talking about gaming consoles with similar capabilities.
