I have MW2 for both PS3 and 360. I have my PS3 hooked up to my 52 incher and my 360 in my room hooked up to my 32 incher in my bedroom. Now, for some reason I just absolutely suck while playing online for my PS3. I don't know if it's the controller but the lag is unbelievable. I should be doing better on the PS3 than the 360 considering I'm playing on my 52 incher. But I'm not only doing better but if I have a bad game on the 360 I don't get frustrated because when I die it's my fault, not the lag's fault (because there is none on xbox live). Just ranting...

There is no lag on XBL? I am going to call out that lie right now. There is lag on BOTH services. It is the nature of networking.

Both PS3 and 360 version have same network code and same protocol, so i don't see how it suppose to lag diffrently, since console is game state server... because it's P2P network, people

1. if there is any difference in connection, it could be due to the distance from your router. 2. I would just like to note that having played both the 360 and ps3 versions of mw2 and mw1, I personally would like to say that the 360 version's online is slightly easier, and I think this just may be due to the fact that there are more people playing, which leaves more room for bad players

I only played the original MW on PS3 and to be fair it was using a wireless connection that was across the house, but just getting into and keeping a game going was awful. Took forever to pick a host, host would start it would time out over and over again. Horrible experience with PSN, I prefer LIVE

Your PS3 is probably farther from your router than your 360.

I rarely lag on PSN, so I don't know.

I don't believe it is PSN and XBL should have the same lag, there is no difference in how they are set up.

I think it most likely your TV.

Yeah dont they both use p2p, so it could be fine in the game you go to and then laggy in the next. Its neither XBL or PSNs fault for the lag its the p2p networking.

im not saying your a liar since everyone has a different ISP and connection setup but i use a ****** wireless N router that sits a yard away in my friends grandpas house while i play online with the wifi on my ps3 and even though i get a bout 50 percent signal strength i still have a download speed of about 1.2-1.6 MBps and an upload speed of half that, and unless im playing in a room with the host that has a bad connection (i dunno how it happens) or i have to reset the connection, i get smooth connections on just about every game

I don't notice the lag so much, I'v;e been playing killzone 2 for about a couple months now, rarely any lag, I do exceptionally well, usually above a 2 KDR, the game, being a PS3 exclusive seems to control rather well with the controller, I usually see no problems with it. But when I played a multiplat shooter on the PS3 like MW 2, I would struggle incredibly, which I normally wouldn't on the 360 controller or KB/M.

Well you can pay for LIVE and get lag and annoying kids, people cursing every other word, rasism, ect. OR you can play PC for free "for the most part" and get lag, have fewer games to play ect. OR you can play PSN for free and live with it. Your choice dude.

there is lag on Xbox live, but even I don't have a great connection or get mad at lag all too much. Because I do rarely get a lag spike.

PS3 has lag, dedicated servers or not, where cows try to say there isn't. Good stuff.

AND PS3 dedicated servers do not include MW2 or any other multiplat. only exclusives.

you can get all that plus MORE annoyance because those same kids are usually too incompetent to come up with their own money, so I'm sure parents don't always pay for them.

or you can get party chat on Xbox, where you can't have party chat when PSN uses dedicated servers for exclusive games and not P2p. Plus the lag you get no matter what.

I lost your point.

Point I was making is every platform has its ups and downs. Complain about PSN you get the same mess on LIVE or PC....and the other way around.

Yeah nothing is lag free, true. I mean I've had horrible lag with XBL too but generally I find the PS3 worse... it may be the TV. I'm using wireless for both and they're about the same distance away from my router, if anything, the PS3 is closer. I guess the only way to test this for sure is to move the 360 to the big TV. It's too bad though because I was really hoping to enjoy MW2 on the big TV but the lag is just ruining it for me.

i have had both versions and i will say that the ps3 version is a bit worse online then the Xbox version. Lag though is the same, both are the same. Only problem with the ps3 version is connecting to games other then that its the exact same.

i have played mw2 on both and there is no lag on any system, its identical. you're a liar trying to create a bad name for mw2 on ps3.

bokiloki

you kidding me right.

mw2 has the most lag i have seen in a game yet.

plus all the times the host can't reconnect and it ends the game

I use netgear wireless N with my ps3 and it performs excellent. With the ps3 it's actually G (most "N" routers do "G" too), but I think many people go cheap on their router and say that wireless is terrible. My router is 20 ft away in a spare bedroom, and I still get over 90% signal. As for lemmings, I would probably stay wired instead of paying 100 bucks. :)

The only problem I had with PSN is that the wireless connection I use makes my games disconnect a lot of times. I think around 40% of my games online on Uncharted 2 have been disconnected. When I tried the wired connection, I never disconnected from games, and there was probably lag one or two games out of 15-20 that I played. If you're using wireless, it'll obviously lag more than using a wired connection.

For gaming, a wired connection is a no-brainer. One should only settle for a wireless connection due to difficulty of accessing a modem directly, or if they're not doing alot of online gaming.

You can attribute that to laziness. Alot of people would rather have convenience with easy installation than a superior connection that required a direct connection to the modem. Sometimes though, some wi-fi users will be within a few feet of a wireless router, so they're experience with it would be great.
