warhawk , no single player mode , only 5 maps. more lazy is devs don't need to make single player AI.
mp3, both single, online mode.

I thought warhawk didnt have a SP. But you have to admit it is kind of strange that all other reviews of both games (with the exception of one other) show that MP3 is atleast .5 and some times 1.0 above Warhawk scores. Also how can MP3 have the same score as Madden 08?

Because Madden is a football sim and it is put up against other football games, why would they compare metroid to madden...thats just dumb. They both got that score because they are both great games of that genre.

Think the standards for a PS3 game are lower than the Wii?KungfuKitten
You sheep with this "stanbdards" thing. What a joke. The only differece in standards is that the Wii is graded differently due to hardware constraints. And that should actually work towards Wii's favor. So don't give us this crap that their grading PS3 with lower standards. If anything, everyone has been picking PS3 exclusives apart.
[QUOTE="FRieDRyCe"]Let me break it down for you:
Metroid Prime 3 - Same s*** with new controls. They were too lazy to even add a multiplayer modeGlitch321
They added multiplayer to Metroid Prime 2 so it's not due to lazyness it's because multiplayer doesn't suit Metroid well.
It didn't work on MP2 because they just tacked that on near the end. If they would at least put SOME effort into the multiplayer it should turn out decent.

Anyone who has played prime knows the single player experience is a lot better than the multiplayer experience. It was never meant for multiplayer

I mentioned Madden, because it is a game that comes out every year with very slight changes to it, and consistantly scores about the same, while MP3's main negative point in GS was that it was too much like the previous 2 games, even though the controls where totaly different (and thereby changing the feel and play of the game). That was the inconsistancy I was tring to point out.

mkay, I played Prime. I bought Metroid Prime when it first came out. The game was LONG and good. The combat was great, it looked great for the time, but I didn't care for the confusing map and the back tracking. That doesn't mean you could keep the same formula for 3 straight games and expect to get a AAA score on the 3rd. I've been there, done that. That's why this game scored what it scored. Same played gameplay, graphics, puzzles, basically everything is the same except the controls--not to mention it's not nearly as long a MP1. I know Prime has a good single player, you don't need to tell me that. I already know that. I still want multiplayer though. I know they could've made a decent one if they put some effort into it.

Metroid 3: Hyped AAA, Received AA = Flop.
Warhawk: Hyped AA, Received AA = Not a flop.
Come on people, get your system wars rules together.
If people tellme mp3 was flop, then warhawk is flop too :wink:marcocat

Have you even played the game?
Wow I really am suprised with the recent scores, I bet it has something to do wit Bioshock. If bioshock scored 9.5 I bet MP3 woulda scored a 9.0, GS seems to have really high standards when it comes to pulling off an AAA, and Blue dragon got creamed (6.0)Ork_Heroi think you are absolutely correct. when they messed up w/ their bioshock score, they have since had to deflate any other score...or at least make sure it doesn't get a 9.0 stating that it would be on par w/ bioshock. either they have gotten super snobby with their reviews or just don't think about their actual number score much before they plop it down. i now realize that when i see anything above a 7.5 on gamespot, that the game is probably freaking amazing. on other websites, those were scores that would make me buy the game if i was a fan of the genre, maybe, but wow, on gamespot, those are the cream of the crop.

I have to ask, if this game was not a metroid game but a new IP, do you think it would have been penalised the same way? I don't believe so. Why is a game sequel marked so much lower just because it is too similar to its predecessor, even when it is an excellent game in its own right. If a game is excellent then it should be scored accordingly, it should be that simple and logical.

Yes, if they slapped Raven Blade : Space Edition on the box, it'll still be penalized the same. No one doubting it's an excellent game. It just feels like the same game--like you've played it before, that's the main problem. That simply doesn't merit a AAA score.MP3 was a good game, but no online/multiplayer
Gameplay wasn't revolutionary, controls seemed VERY smooth,
Best parts I'd say was a great story and a constant FPS unlike the other Wii games.
Warhawk looks very promising with nice graphics and a strong MP
Even though Warhawk has a few selection of maps, there are many different customizations
I personally would give them about the same rating. MP3 isntamazing just as Warhawk hasnt been hyped to be amazing.
