I wouldnt be surprised if Halo 3 gets a 8.5 here in Gamespot , its hype is bigger than the game itself. Im sure it will be undershadowed by games like GTA IV , COD4 , AssasinĀ“s Creed , probably not in sales (since hype sells) but in the game score . I think it wont evenbe a GOTY worth nomineeblackhorsemendo you want to make a bet?

You have no idea how big Halo 3 is.
Yep, probably one of the most anticipated games ever. Even if there are some crazy people like you (blackhorsemen) who think the game is going to flop just because of so much hype, or because they don't like the game, it will still be one of the biggest games ever.
I played the heck out of Halo 2. Probably too much. I was hyped about the beta, but now that I've played it, I don't have the anticipation for Halo 3 that I had for Halo 2. I myself am much more interested in Bioshock and COD4 than H3. Does anyone else have this feeling, or is it just me?DaBears45
Nah it's just you.
I wouldn't be surprised if it got an 8.5 on GameSpot. The game will undoubtebly be ragged on more than other titles for things like originality and lack of "innovation" (aka wave arm controls, etc) because it is so big...
But, I'm guessing 9.0, maybe 9.5. Although I don't really care, at all.

I have always wanted H3 to come but within the past few months - H3 has become my most anticipated title surpassing M.E. & Bioshock - and thats saying something.
You keep holding onto that dream cow.TemplaerDude
Yeah cause anyone who doesn't like Halo is automatically a Cow right?

I can understand Bioshock more than CoD4. I really can't understand why people play CoD2 or 3 (never played 1). And watching gameplay of 4, it looks like the same, extremely linear and boring single player mode, with super boring art style (grey...). Just IMO though.Halo 3 has a much better chance of flopping than its predecessors.

How is that a bad thing?
Most people say that Halo 3 will flop because it is "more of the same"...
Halo 2 was totally different from Halo 2 and Halo 3 is a mixture of both previous installments plus new mechanics...hwo does that make it have more of a chance to flop?
If halo 3 doesnt flop, i hope you will crawling under a rock somewhere until everyone gives up flaming you
Well, there are moveable bases in multiplayer, customization of your armor models and such (multiplayer), new weapons including some sort of gravity rod, a Forge mode, new vehicles, and some more stuff I forgot. To me, that seems like more than enough to keep a good gameplay formula new and fun. Plus, the single player will probably be a big improvement from 2.Halo 3 has a much better chance of flopping than its predecessors.

Just a bit more reason it will not flop if this becomes fact.
You could say 4 Player Co-Op for Halo 3 is sorta kinda already confirmed since the gaming community cracked the Halo 3 Beta back in the day. But alas, another beacon of hope in the form of Jeff Bell, VP of Global Marketing for Microsoft, who in an interview with Major Nelson just might've let slip the 4 Player Co-Op feature.
Halo Fanatic UNSCleric posted this little blurb on his site:
In an interview with Major Nelson/Larry Hryb that was just posted on Xbox.com, Microsoft Vice President of Global Marketing, Jeff Bell, was being interviewed about his thoughts on the Xbox 360. It's a great interview, and right at the end of it, he is talking about how co-op with his son was the reason he loved Halo and Halo 2, he then says the following:
"Now, we're really looking forward to playing with my three sons, all together on Halo 3."
As I too were thinking, "Hmm... he could've been referring to mult--" Shh... Watch the video and decide for yourself. Was he referring to multi-shh or the single-player campaign?
Halo 3 has a much better chance of flopping than its predecessors.

You said Halo2 was different from Halo2, so I fixed it.. anyways, he's probably right though, as I'm guessing for a game to flop it means its GameSpot number score has to be lower than expected. And we all know how much GameSpot cares about originality, "innovation," and all those wonderful things that don't necessarily make a game more fun to play (way too much).I predict about a 8.9 or so....First I was going to say they would probably be more lenient concerning graphics of the single player mode if the levels are as wide open as they are expected to be, but then again Gears got a 10 in graphics, which is completely stupid IMO, considering every level is extremely confined compared to other games.
Graphics will probably only get an 8 tops....maybe as low as a 7 on GS....they are harsh on reviews sometimescoltonnaslund

Yes, I think Halo 3 is going to be pretty big. For those who still play Halo 2 online, and still have bragging rights about beating the game on Legendary they will enjoy Halo 3. I hope their is more distinction in the single player mode, and we obviously won't know until the games releases.
But I swear, a small team of dedicated Halo 2 fans could create all the content seen in the Halo 3 beta as a Halo 2 modification. Hell, I wouldn't be surprise to see that happen. I look at games like MGS4 which definitely have more distinction between MGS3; and some of the little things have made drastic changes in gameplay. I will admit that in Halo 3's multiplayer beta I experienced a few moments of awe, but for me their wasn't enough.
I've perosnally enjoyed the Halo series. Halo 2 was definitely a nice upgrade from the original. I am just praying that the usual FPS upgrades like new weapons, better AI, etc aren't going to be the only thing in the game. It would be nice to see more technical features expanding the range of accomplishing objectives. In a sense though Halo has always been a big shoot em' up. I guess hardcore fans are looking foward to just blowing more sh!t up, talking smack, more guns, and maps. I just think there could be more interesting ways to do it.
I predict about a 8.9 or so....I think this line of thinking will be one big reason H3 will score very high as so many IMHO are thinking the graphics will not impress.
Graphics will probably only get an 8 tops....maybe as low as a 7 on GS....they are harsh on reviews sometimescoltonnaslund
I bet when all is said and done - reviewers will be very impressed by the graphics alone. We shall see.

although Mass effect and bioshock will most likely be better experiences, im pretty certain halo 3 will be the most often played game this generation due to the incredible replay value.

Posts like yours kind of prove his point. You're making it out to be the second coming of Christ, but guess what? It's just more Halo. Marathon 2.0. There are plenty of FPS' out there.

exactly with forge, achievements,4 player co-op,oh so famous multiplayer then they have new armors i wont be able 2 put this game down
Halo 3 still has the Halo magic.
If it gets below a 9.0... There is something seriously wrong.

I bet you Zelda:TP looked about the same on that chart a year or two ago, and look at how that turned out.
People are more excited about Super Mario Galaxy than Assassin's Creed? You're right, there is something seriously wrong.

How is Super Mario Galaxy beating out other games something wrong? When Wii is selling like hot cakes and Nintendo is having trouble keeping up with demand?

I took his post to mean that H3 is a small game, nothing more. The lvls are the largest yet in the Halo series, the battles are some of the biggst ever inFPSs, the battles are more insane then anything yet, the multiplayer is the best mp Bungie has ever made and the same goes for the single player (they said both of those things on yesterdays podcast).
alright first off i don't own an Xbox 360, or an Xbox. I am neutral with the series (played it at a buddies house for a couple hours) and i must say Halo 2 was pretty good. Overrated and DEF. not the best game (shooter) ever, but it was pretty good. Halo 3 looks ...well..who cares? there are so many games that currently surpass it. Its not like Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3 revolutionize anything in the FPS genre. The story is not anything we haven't seen before, as is the online play (Quake, CS 1.3...ect.). nothing about this game should be celebrated as revolutionizing the industry. It was GOOD now the best. get over it.
people who assume it was revolutionary obviously have never played PC FPS's.

i dont know about you but more halo is a good thing.
If Halo 3 scores higher than KZ2 I'm gonna leave SW, mainly due to the cow outcry of "teh bias" which is getting extremely tiresome.

I am a total devoted Nintendo fan on this one....
But Halo 3......against Killzone 2?
Sure Killzone kills Halo 3 in graphics.....but the replay value of Halo series....atleast 2-player co-op....I am not sure about 4? But the Online Multiplayer and Story is enough for Halo to beat Killzone 2....all Killzone has going for it is stunning graphics...(which I don't say often about PS3 games)
Honestly though.....you are going to have to leave System Wars because Halo 3 will beat Killzone 2
where the hell do you come up with this **** if halo 2 got a over a 9 whats to say that halo 3 wont, its going to be so much better then halo 2 that it could even have the possibility of getting a 10, but who knows, all that i know is your wrong.Tda503
Haha....my friend said the same thing before Halo 2 came out....and it got LOWER on GS....it is next gen....So the Game HAS to be WAY better Otherwise it DESERVES a lower score
