I Choose PS3 - Reasons/Review

I will start out by saying that I am a PC gamer at heart, and my console gaming is casual by comparison. However, I have been consoling it up ever since the days of NES and Super Mario Bros.

Last generation the only console I owned was the Gamecube, which rocked with games like Tony Hawk 3, Metroid Prime, and Tiger Woods Golf. Also I have owned every nintendo console ever, so naturally I wanted a Wii, so I have been waiting for Super Paper Mario to come out to see if it blew away the reviews. The reviews were good, but not awesome, much like Twilight Princes.

My Favorite Game of last gen was Halo 2, which I played countless hours of on my freinds xbox. So I also wanted a 360 to play halo 3.

So I wanted a 360 and a Wii, but I ended up buying a PS3. Here is why; My favorite games these days for consoles are NCAA Football and NHL games, so I want to be able to play these games with hyper realistic graphics and sound. This rules out the Wii, because it is the weekest of the 3 in th graphics department with a max rez. of 480p. So why did I choose PS3 over 360 if PS3 doesnt have Halo 3? Well 1 game does not a console make, and I think PS3s exclusive content will eventually win out, with AAA games like MGS4, Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword, AND GOD OF WAR 3 (most likely) !!!! + all the great multi plat games like Assasins Creed, and Orange Box.

As far as being worried about the PS3 being a failer?! HAHA, I think not. Look at how many people are still buying the PS2, six+ years after it is out. 280,000 in the month of March!!! More than any other non-portable console. Think about how many people will buy a PS3 3, 4, and 5 years from now, when the price is dropping into the 400 - 300 dollar range.

One day I may be forced to buy a Wii to play Paper Mario Galaxy etc. and I may have to borrow my brothers 360 to play Halo 3, but for now I am happy with my decision.

I give the PS3 a 9/10. Motorstorm and RFOM are a blast solo and online. The PS3 loses points right now for lack of software, but that will change. It gains points for being so sexy looking, all black and silver and shiny, and I love the controller.

The PS3 sucks. It has no good exclusive games besides RFOM. Everything else there is a better version of the same game on the 360. God of War can't hold a freakin candle to Gears of WAr, Halo 3, Rainbow 6 Vegas,and Crackdown

Why do you want the orange box (half life 2) for the ps3? It is much better on the computer. Anyway, I hope your happy with your dicision.zerooslo7990

This obviously comes from a person who has never played either one of the God of War games. You lost all crediblity claiming Crackdown was a better game. As far as story goes God of War has a story 10 times better than any game you listed. The first two games are simply the greatest expeirences I have had playing video games. It never fails that fanboys will judge a GAMER for making a purchase that he wanted. For those who made fun of this non-biased thread, that I will take it that you're jealous of him, because he will be enjoying all the great exclusives to come. Just because it has a better story doesn't mean it's a better game, games aren't books. Gears of War won several GOTY awards and the story wa pretty meh.

He didn't say Halo 3 was the only good 360 game... he said that he was most interested in that (besides the sports/racing games) on the 360, just like he was most interested in Super Paper Mario on the Wii. Learn to read, stop being fanboys yourselves.Grats on the purchase TC, enjoy it!jwmakoto

Nothing right now, NCAA Football wil probly look very good on 360 and PS3, but in the long run I think PS3 be the superior console, as the PS2 ruled last gen.  Plus now I have a nice blue ray dvd player so I can fully utilize my HDTV for 5+ years with teh PS3.

Considering the trend of multi-plat titles being subpar on the PS3 compared to their Xbox 360 counterparts, and considering the fact that hockey & football games usually are multi-plat titles, I think that you could have saved yourself $200 by getting the Xbox 360. I do not expect this trend to change. Developers of these titles are using the Xbox 360 as their primary development platform and the PS3 versions are just not as polished. Madden 2007 received a lower score on the PS3; so did NHL 2K7.

But whatever. I think that if you are going to buy a video game system strictly for sports games, you should just get an Xbox 360. You should get a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, etc. If you aren't interested in playing these titles, then the choice I think is obvious.

I've played both and they are very good games but GOW is better. I idn't mean to writed down Crackdown. I liked it but it kinda sucked
