Here is the original article.
This is the quote that evidently started this.
"When was Turok finished completely?
The 360 version was pretty much complete in the November timeframe. Most of the team at the point was focused on polishing the PS3 version up to the standard of the 360. The project kind of led on the 360 being an Unreal game.
Was it harder to develop on the Playstation 3? Did you have any troubles?
If you lead on the PS3, you don't have any problems taking that and moving it to the 360. But if you lead on the 360, and duplicate it on the PS3 it can be a little bit more challenging, and for us as an Unreal engine game, our lead platform was the Xbox 360 and that's why it took a little bit more effort at the end to the PS3 comparable to the 360. But that's something we planned for knowing that the 360 would be our lead platform."
But later on in the interview, he seems to give a different explanation.
"You're releasing your game in February. Obviously you missed the big Christmas season rush where we had a lot of games in one tight period. Are you glad that your game is going to get a lot more attention now, instead of being lost in the mix of a bunch of other titles?
Definitely. That was one of the things we considered when we delayed the game. We wanted to polish the game experience as much as possible on both the Xbox 360 as well as the PS3. Additionally we wanted to add some content on the multiplayer side and make that experience really robust and rewarding.
But on the flip side of that were all the market realities. When I look at last year, I look at it with my gamer hat on. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer. I buy all the good titles that come out on all the platforms that I own and I was missing games that I was really excited about.
There was a week there that Orange Box had been released there for a week and I knew that if I didn't buy Orange Box in the next few days, I would not buy it. And if I hadn't bought Orange Box, I would have never had played Portal, and Portal is my hand-down favorite game experience of last year. How sad would that be if I hadn't have played Portal, not because of the quality of the game, but because there was just too much stuff out there?"
