technically if you begin with the date in 2009 when the ps3 had a library that could compete with the 360 it was more like a 4 year headstart.

And lems don't do the same thing? I think you are forgetting the likes of reach3 and loosingEnds, among others. If anything, with the higher population of 360 users here, the cows get more hate than the lems do.

the first year of 360 was somewhat impressive compared to last gen (even at the time, underwhelming big time), but standards quickly climbed much much higher (perfect dark zero much?). First year 360 games are all overrated big time and wouldn't stand up today. Oblivion might stand up since nobody makes games quite like Bethesda. Have you ever compared Forza, Forza 2, and Forza 3? (by any standard)

The funny part about the original TC post is that he's actually kind of right in a way, albeit intentionally trolling.

I mean, seriously, how hard could it have possibly been to compete with a $600 console? Most people probably went inside the store laughing at the PS3 and not even giving it a split second of interest. When I went to the store to get my 7th gen console, I went to Costco with intentions of buying a 360, and the only reason I got a PS3 for $800 bucks (Costco always sells bundles so it had like extra controllers, blu ray remotes and games) was because they were sold out of 360s. I had plans of getting a PS3 regardless, solely because of Metal Gear Solid 4, but I planned on getting one later down the line. It was pretty much an impulse buy. No one else I knew would have even considered it, other than my tech enthusiast friend who also had one, but that guy buys gaming PCs that cost over $5,000 dollars ever few years.

Perfect Dark, Oblivion, Gears of War and Saints Row were great games. (still are as far as oblivion is concerned.)

Perfect dark 0 is a horrible game. The only awesome game on that list is Gears and the reason why i purchased a 360. before that it was bleh.

I'd replace PD0 with Test Drive Unlimited. That was good for a first year game. Ace Combat 6 is still one of my most played games. :P

Have you ever played PDZ? it is really bad. It might be my opinion, but many share it. It was way overhyped cause there was nothing else. giving it a 9 is ridiculous.
