I don't get how Uncharted could be considered graphics king

Before the cows eat me alive, let me just say:

Uncharted is one of the best looking games I've seen, and will be buying it soon

But I think the graphics are over rated, the game looks like a cartoon and sometimes the character models look like plastic action figures.

people have always said uncharted looks better than gears and mgs4

Uncharteddidn't even get 10/10 or even 9.5/10 for graphics

IGN gave Gears of War 1 and MGS4 a 10/10 for graphics

and uncharted a 9/10 for graphics

"Graphically, Uncharted's beautiful as you tear down trees with turrets, watch Nate's clothes saturate with lagoon water and the sun filter through the leaves, but there is a lot of texture pop-in on the jungle floor and treasures while aliasing on the walls and screen tearing are par for the course. It isn't. Any fair & balanced gamer, like myself, would tell you that Gears 2 is the graphics king. But hey, we've already had polls that indicates that.BioShockOwnz

Tts a toss up between Gears 2 and MGS4 with Gears 2 getting the slight nod imo too.

I didnt think uncharted looked that great until i played it and realized it blew away gears 1. And since then I've played gears 2 and really its a toss up. Uncharted looks consistently amazing while gears looks good in parts and no so good in other parts. Really its pretty even.

And on a side note, has anyone else noticed how bad the perspective is with the way drake is holding/aiming his gun in reference to the reticle on screen. The gun is always turned slightly more right in his hand and if you say aim at a rock, based on perspective the gunshot would hit like 2 feet to the right of where the reticle shows. Its like it shows too much of the side of the gun or that he just isnt holding it straight. It bugs me but its no big deal. I dont see how they could have screwed this up. Everyone I've pointed it out to in person while playing at my house noticed the same thing.

That *is* off-screen (look in the top left and also note the fact that the bottom of the picture is curved, indicating that it is on a TV and the camera isn't angled right), and the point is that off-screen shots make it look better than it really is by eliminating aliasing (also known as "jaggies") and screwing with the lighting.
