PS3 The Darkness = 7.7

360 The Darkness = 8.5

PS3 The Bigs = 8.0

360 The Bigs = 8.3

I don't get it, same game, different scores. Should we expect the 360 will always have the better version of multiplats this gen? This time around you can't use that "oh its just a lazy dev's poor port" becausethey say The Darkness was developed for the 360 and the PS3 at the same time, but what happened, whats going on!?! I'm not really shock but it really just makes me wonder. The 360 is really superior over the PS3 when it comes to multiplats huh.

Well The Darkness was reviewed by two different people. I think that's where you'll see the biggest score differences. Like The Bigs, reviewed by the same person, but only a small difference in score.

The 360's Online service is giving it the advantage. At least taht was the case of The Bigs.

The PS3 is harder to develop for. This should obviously be the case... Or maybe teh achievement and rumble gave a boost.

Darkness got a 7.8 from IGN. The score you have is from the UK branch.

also, the reviews never mentioned any of the content in the PS3 version.

TC, you used the UK review.

It should look like this:

PS3 - 7.7

360 - 7.8

Sony should provide better dev tools to developers so they can program easier for CELL and RSX. Because right now, the 360 is owning the PS3 performance wise which shouldn't be happening.

Look at the site you took the scores from. The sites are different. The PS3 score is from IGN.com (7.7)while the 360 score is UK IGN.com (8.5). The non UK IGN.com gave the a completely different score to the 360 version. Also different people are reviewing the games.

Different platforms, different criteria. A 9.0 game on a DS is no way as advanced as a 9.0 PS3/360 game etc. It is all about what the system is capable of at the time of at the time of the review and how the game compares with this standard. It is like PC and console games, a PC game that need high requirements will probably get a lower even if it runs smoothly, whilst this is not a consideration for consoles. A lot is due to expectations of the reviewer, and also how it compares with similar type of games for the same console (if any). It can also be said that which console version was reviewed first also has some effect, as the second time round, much of the "newness" of the game will be gone. It is all opinion of the review, you may agree or you may not, in the end read the review, you like it buy it, you don't then don't buy it.

Before someone starts labeling "oh teh scores were different because it wasn't reviewed by teh same person (but they work at the same company)" as damage control, I guess that reason makes sense, I guess.

It makes perfect sense. Reviews are essentially someones opinion. Whoever reviewed Gears here gave a 9.6, but in my opinion I would give it around a 9.0.
