I don't know what cows are so excited about

The cows here on System Wars are going crazy about E3 and Sony's huge lineup of huge games. Most of those games they listed aren't even coming out till mid to late 2008. The only games that really interest me LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, MGS4, and FFXIII are not schedule till mid 2008.

The fact of the matter is that Nintendo and Microsoft only showed games coming out this year. Or early early next year Wii Fit (Jan 1st). Come first quarter when a ton of good Wii and 360 games start getting announced system wars will change it's tune again.

Agree a little. If MS had shown Fable 2, Alan Wake and a few other major 2008 releases, tunes would be a little different.

Now next year, MS will show those titles while Sony gets titles it revealed this year. Not so cut-and-paste, but you get the idea.

Late 08 yes, but surely most 360 users have the uber killer line-up to worry about to worry about.

Meh I was thinking this was a blind bashing thread, but in the end I somewhat agree.

It is still early to be announcing hundreads of games that will come out in the next couple of years, Sony is already doing this and people are comparing its library to titles from the competition that will only come out this year... Still, you just can't spin it. Anyone that says that Sony does not have a good list of games for the next couple of years is just fooling themselves, or they are just using a case of subjectivity...

Sir, out of all the games shown only like four (albeit a big four) are scheduled for next year. And if Cows are excited it's because there are about to be a slew of games on the PS3. You downplay Ratchet, Heavenly Sword, Lair, and Uncharted big time. Also, all those 3rd party games that made up the majority of MS's press conference are, for the most part, coming to PS3 as well. Don't forget 2 timed exclusives. So ummm, yeah, can you still not see why Cows are excited?

This is exactly how cows acted 2 years ago after there e3 they would hype games and say things like

I think that's kinda the direction E3 is gonna go, because really with the way the game media is now, we find out all this stuff on our own, by looking at various sites.

And I really like Overture of the Wicked, pumped for the full new albums. I know everyone hates on the new singer, but I think he has greater range than Barlow did, and the songs that were written with his voice in mind will be really cool.

Killzone 2 (According to Phil Harrison) and MGS4 (shown in the trailer) are early 2008.

Let's see. Little Big Planet, Haze, UT3, Heavenly Sword, Lair, Folklore, Rachet and Clank, and Home were all shown at E3. All these games are coming out in 2007. Just because the games you are only interested in comes in 2008, doesn't mean the 2007 list is non-existence. I also want to answer the question about why should M$ make me happy for 2008? There 2 reasons.

1. Games no matter how good their are gets old. I would like to know after the fun of Halo 3 runs out, I have another game to look foward to.

2. Buying a console is an investment. I expect to invest a great deal of time in gaming, so I would like a confirmation that the system I bought has a line up that will satisfy me, not just now, but years to come.

M$ failed to do so at E3. PS3 did a great job showing games this year and next year that shows it's a great investment.

It just that Sony showed us that they are infact not dead and we have a lot to look foward to. Everyone already knows about Mass Effect and Halo. So on the Sony platform i was left going "Oh man...this is hot, when LBP comes out and HS and Kz2 and etc... its gonna be hot!" they talked about alot of new games to come. But on the MS front all i heard was "Halo! Mass Effect!" and i was thinking..."yeah i know those games are coming out and they are gonna rock...but what after that?" Halo and ME have been drilled into our skulls so much that I just wanted to hear that MS has sumthing else under its sleeves other than those 2 games, and they didnt show me that. (I know MS has more games coming out other than those 2)Viviath

Wasn't this thread about why Cows are excited? No one in their right mind would say that MS has nothing planned for 08, but they just didn't show much concerning 08. Sony showed their bigs are coming in 08 but that doesn't mean the games coming this year are crap. Both companies took different strategies but, for the majority, the industry liked Sony's approach. Still, I expect MS to come forward with some big news for 08.

Everyone already knew that 07 was a killer year, they were basically beating a dead horse at e3. I never said that e3 is the only place that they will announce an 08 lineup, but it is a good place to do it and X07 or what ever is not happening this year(right?) so we will just have to wait to find out what is going on.smokeydabear076
