I got Forza 3 with my 360 , and i have played a couple of GT games before , other than looking at the cars which why lie are many and some of them are mind blowing , i don't see anything interesting , races suck , the AL is so bad , they are not anything special , people keep on debating about which game has better physics and different things , i mean if you want a realistic car game , go drive your real car ! Also i never really liked racing games maybe that is the reason.

I think it's the fact that you don't like racing games :P

If you don't like them, why would you look for the appeal in them? You probably wouldn't.

Me too. I have Forza 2 and I have only completed like 20% of the game (one of the reasons I didn`t get Forza 3). It`s fun and all, but I can`t play it all the time, that`s why I play Forza 2 from time to time but I can`t stick with it

not everyone can drive cool cars and people love racing. the graphics of these games are usually the best for the systems. driving a real car has consequencesthat arent present in some racing games and not everyone lives near a race track or has a place to top out their car. they dont have the real money to make a 4 banger have 500hp.

Both series are very very fun with friends.

Me and my dad and my cousins meet up online in Forza3, set up matches and race agaisnt each other, its tons of fun.
We each have our own cars, custimized with crazy pictures/paintjobs and its just fun as heck.

I like GT and Forza series the most out of any racing series. They are somewhat realistic (not as realistic as some of the pc racers but compared to other console racers).

its the gameplay, its perfect in these series.

markinthedark

QUITE the opposite. I have never bought a Madden game in my life.

Ill buy GT 5...midnight launch...because of the many layers of gameplay it will offer. I appreciate the depth and challenge of a great racing sim.

By the way TC, if racing games arent your thing, then why bother trying to understand their appeal or their fans?

Simulation racing is a niche genre, not everyone's cup of tea. I'm sure you're one of those people that play run and gun shooters like MW2 and think it's "real".

trying to understand something that you dont is a pretty progressive and intelligent stance, dont you think? If we all took the time to understand other people's interests the world would be a much happier place :D

Reality check: video games aren't real.

Now if you own a Ferrari and have access to say, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, then good for you. In the mean time the rest of us will have to settle for something less.

Not missing much, if you aint playing with people you know, most races degrade to: In the first corner, the guy that is leading the race will get knocked out by a competitor "for t3h lulz..." Evreybody will be racing the best tuned car that is #1 on the leaderboards with all assists on instead of trying to race with no assists and with a car they tuned themselfs They will ragequit the second their attempt at knocking you out fails etc. So you need people you know or atleast that have the same mindset as you.

i played them too... but thats an arcade racer. I understand arcade racers.

it would be like if someone played a platforming sim... where you could only jump a gap of a few feet and climbing was tedious and slow... i think it would suck the fun out of the platforming genre.

Simulators aint you're cup of tea... If you check around you have even more extreme sims then GT5 or Forza 3, casing point: PC Flight Sims. Stuff like Blackshark a mere mortal gamer like myself has a hard time getting the darn helicopter to start... But I'm generaly very much into sims, i just like the challange of playing something thats modeled as close to real life as possible. Some things just aint realisticly possible in real life. Driving a Le Mans Prototype car is one of them

so if the thrill is driving faster in a car than you can in real life... why wouldnt you prefer arcade racers where acceleration and handling is light years in the future? Think of the cars as the year 2100 prototypes :)

Then it's stupid easy, all of the talent is tooken out of it, along any real competetion there is. No challenge. Arcade racers are boring.

Racing games are up there with tennis games as far as I'm concerned. I never think or care about them, and it's weird to see people using them in arguments for systems.

You know not everyone can afford a car, much less a Lamborghini, and the expenses that come with professional racing. In real life, crashing into a wall in a 1.5 ton box of metal and rubber at 200 mph will leave you permanently fused with the car's chasis. Next time try not to be so close minded. ;)

I love cars, since the games are racing simulators the games appeal to me. Drive your real car? Sorry, I can't afford a Bugatti Veyron.
