I don't like Nintendo but...convince me to switch

I usually don't like Nintendo kiddy games and all. But I'm considering getting one just to try it out. Or am im too late in the gen to buy one?

Seem like Nintendo consoles only last 2 years

Is it better then the past consoles?

What features it has other then being mobile?

Personally, I'm really excited for Slay The Spire on a touch screen.

Well, it has some amazing games... which is a good start (Super Mario Odyssey is a contender for my game of the gen).

And it has become the home for the Indie scene, which was a big reason I bought one.

I don't really get what you define as kiddy games but there are lots of games to be had if you simply Google. There are even more games than what Wii u got and Switch is only getting stronger.

It's saving grace is the portability.

The same games are double the price, which means double the quality.

I hate nintendo casual games like Mario and its endless spinoff but I do have a Switch. Lately not seen action but its a good JRPG machine for what its worth.fuking hate the indies infesting the machine though

If you don't like Nintendo then don't buy one. Buying a console you strongly suspect you won't like just to reinforce why you don't like it is pretty pointless imo.

If it wasn't for it's portability, I wouldn't bother buying Switch in the first place. Nintendo is very lucky they added this feature so they can get my money.

It's also I mean not that expensive I guess $300 basically kinda cheap more or less.

It is cool for portability, but that is about it. It only has a couple of good games, but mine collects dust or my kiddos plays it. It isn't that great unless you just want to spend the money.

The game I play the most on my Switch is Splatoon 2.

In my opinion, that's the most addictive game on the Switch. I would start there! Although Tetris 99 is pretty good too!

Maybe look what's on the thing 1st? I have doom, dark souls and disgaea 5 cause I also don't like their kiddy games.

I'm not convincing you to do anything. I will say I want a couple games on the switch, namely Zelda Botw and Link's Awakening. I've played botw on Wii U before, but it wasn't mine.

I could start an actual thread with this: Zelda is the best thing that Nintendo makes, and it is the most influential as well.

Do you like paying full price for ports? Buying cardboard? Having the weakest hardware in a gen? Only getting two games a year from the same six franchises? No price cuts? Terrible HDD space? Scalping games and hardware? Nintendo gaming offers all of this and more. How can you not love it?

You forgot shitty online where you get literally nothing and they advertise "free roms", where you're forced to pay for a sub, making it decidedly, not free. Oh, and online DRM.

I can't recommend the Switch to you. Even for me, a longtime Nintendo fan, this system isn't doing a lot for me at this point.

Nintendo are really embracing the indie scene do that's a factor.

Awesome games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

If you like snes style gaming you can get a third party left joycon with a d-pad to play retro/indie games with, i.e. Owlboy, Hollow Knight. You can also get a 8-bitdo snes pad, essentially a good snes knockoff controller.

I mean, without it, it would have just been another ordinary Nintendo console and I wouldn't even bother with it. So Nintendo better be glad the Switch is portable cause that feature is really handy cause I barely play any consoles at home now cause I'm always on my gaming PC. I play my Switch just about everyday when I'm out of the house and riding on the bus just to play it. Even during my lunch break :)

It's the only system that allows you to play the best open world game ever made on the go....

Only way I'll get one is if it's stripped down into a handheld with no dock as I'd never use it through tv. The graphical style looks perfect for handheld.

Get a Nintendo Switch and play Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda, Super Smash bros ultimate. Maybe try a few other games as well. There are late ports Skyrim, Diablo 3, Doom etc. The switch is the indie machine at the moment.

If you don't really like Nintendo but want to try it. go for it since Nintendo consoles/handhelds hold resale value better than Xbox and Playstation brands. So dumping the Switch at a used videogame shop will be easy. They will take old Nintendo Systems like the NES, SNES and N64. Not so much with original Playstation and Xbox and Xbox 360 systems.

With the Switch purchase you can recover some/most of the purchase price. Nintendo games/systems hold value compared to other brands. So if you end up liking Switch you can upgrade when the Switch Pro arrives. The Switch uses 2011 tech but Nintendo rarely has be known for Cutting edge game tech.

I was late to the Switch, I only bothered to get one after almost 2 years after launch. Since I was not willing to buy one until it was a success and not going to die out like the Wii U. Plus I waited until there were at least 3 games I wanted to buy.

So take a chance on the Nintendo Switch try at least 3 games that might interest you. The switch is expensive for what it offers with the games mostly remaining at $80.00

If you have not played Nintendo Since the SNES era. It may take some time to get use to Nintendo games again.

The Switch is my third favorite Nintendo console of all time, behind the first two gens. On that note, yes, you should get one.

What the hell are you talking about? You make it sound like portability was an accident or coincidence when it is a deliberate design and the theme of the Switch's entire marketing campaign. Nintendo didn't happen to get lucky with an unintended consequence, this was their plan from the beginning.

Well I love the system myself. There’s tons of excellent games for it such as:

- Breath of the Wild

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

- Xenoblade Chronicles 2

- Octopath Traveler

- Bayonetta 1 and 2

- Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

- Blazblue Cross Tag Battle

and many more. There’s also a lot of great stuff coming out in the future such as:

- Mortal Kombat 11

- Bayonetta 3

- Fire Emblem Three Houses

- Metroid Prime 4

- Dragon Quest XI

- Pokémon

- Animal Crossing

and others. I think the portability factor really helps it out a lot as well.

Even if you were a hardcore Nintendo sheep, you wouldn’t actually like the switch or ever play it. You would just pretend to like it online and shill for Nintendo 24/7.

You get maybe 1-2 “okay” Nintendo games per year. The rest of the stuff is filler trash you played a million times before like Yoshi and Kirby.

There is no 3rd party support. The few games it does have are much worse on switch. Wolfenstein 2 and other games hit new lows like 240i resolution which is insane in 2019.

Don’t fall for the fake hype by the sheep on the internet. They will try to convince you that indies are worth $80 and you should buy every exclusive because Nintendo.
