i always here hermits saying its by far the biggest platform . i know a lot of gamers out there in my life and online . pretty much none of them play on pc at all. my friend his dad got him a pc thats powerful . i think its intel core duo e6300 2gb ram and 8600 gpu and he does not use it for gaming at all. i asked why cus i am a bit of a pc gamer . he said " i have consoles for gaming" I really don't think the pc market is that big for gaming . i think the companys say anyone whos ever played a game on pc is gamer . pc sales have been pretty slow these days. when ever i asked people i meet to play games like call of duty online with me they say whats your gamer tag? while i want to play on pc . i think console gaming is more main stream . most people know very little on hardware and dont want to put up with making a pc. most stores like future shop dont sell gaming pcs . most gpus in there computers are like nivdia 6150 or intel gma 950 . the gaming pc they sell are very expensive around 750-1000$ or more . only hard core gamers would spend so much.

Most people are just not tech savy, and don't want the hassle of upgrading their PC to play the latest games. They would rather buy a system (console) that can play all games made for it full speed, no BS tweaking needed.
Europeans and Asians have terrible taste in just about everything so it's no surprise that PC gaming is big over there.butteater86
have you seen what "mainstream" looks like in America?
everything popular here is terrible...the highest grossing movies here are shallow and storyless, The average American goes to a fast food chain once every 3 days...etc.
I have pretty much given up on hollywood, most of the movies I like and watch now are European or Indi.
I'll just add that I used to be a PC gamer back in the days of Diablo 2, Deus ex ect. But I didn't have the money to keep up with the upgrades needed so I just went out one day and bought a PS2 and never upgraded my PC since. I will buy a super duper PC once games like Starcraft 2 come out, or Diablo 3 (please do it Blizzard) but until then I'm happy to be a 360 and Wii gamer.PC gaming is great for certain types of games, and consoles are great at others such as games like DMC,Ninja Gaiden ect.
They can live happily side by side imo, there is no need to defend one to your dying breath, it's just silly.
PC sales are actually the best they've been in quite some time. With a 15% growth, 30% of ALL game sales, and many first time companies selling 1 million its their first months, PC games are selling perfectly fine.
