I don't understand Halo fans

It's just another FPS with aliens and crappy music. No strategy is needed in the game, just run and shoot like every other FPS.

maybe because it revolutionized console onlin, and its fun, and not generic

OKay, let me count the ways....

1. Halo has a deep storyline, yet most of your game is actually focused on playing, unlike a certain game that COWS love that shall remain nameless.

2. Halo has great, clean, tight controls.

3. Halo has a clean crisp graphical style. Not to mention is a beautiful game to play.

4. Master Chief is a bad mutha-f'er. His cool demeanor in high stress situations shows this.

5. Ummm..... best ONLINE FPS I have ever played, when its played fairly without hacks.The online runs smooth with very little lag, which I've never had luck with in any other FPS.

6. The means of getting a game going online is user-friendly. By that I mean, with other FPS's if you wanna play online, you have to worry about having the right Mods and crap, I've spent alot of time trying to play certain games online, only to get "errors", saying I dont have the right version or some crap. Even though I downloaded the latest patch.

7. SHOOTING ALIENS IS MORE FUN THAN SHOOTING NAZIS!

yep, i've never really understood why so much praise around Halo. may be i started as a PC FPS player when Halo came out on the xbox? or may be it just overrated?

Halo is a bit over rated but it is till a fun shooter. I believe Halo CE redefined and FPS for the xbox. Much how Goldeneye, Perfect Dark did for the N64. Also Halo was really one of the first consoles that could acctually compete with the PC shooters like Half-Life, Counter Strike, etc..

Halo was one of the first games that really helped expand the gamming world much how the Wii is doing now. A few of my friends who had never played games before came to try out Halo and loved it. They went out bought an Xbox and Halo, Halo 2. Halo in away doesnt have new innovations as other shooters, but Bungie tied graphics, great game play and fun all into one epic shooter. Just try a match on Xbox Live and you will see what a great game it truly is, I mean is there anything better than sticking a Plasma grenade on a friend?

Every professional review publication and internet site rated both games as either AAAA or AAA, hardly overrated.

Best? Perhaps. Deepest? Not at all. Perfect Dark (N64 version) has and currently is one of the "deepest" console FPS games. Whether or not it is the best, is up to oppinion.

Multiplayer is unmatched, except maybe for CS..my opinion of course.Heil68

What was deep about Halo? Shoot aliens, move to next area, shoot aliens, move to next area, shoot aliens, etc. Occassionally you get to grab a vehicle and do the same thing. There was nothing deep about the gameplay.

If you want a deep shooter, try Half-Life 2.

Halo 2 was a masterpiece because of the gamplay. The multiplayer stands out from the other FPS online games. It's still the number 1online FPS game still being played.

1. Halo did not revolutionize FPS or anything for that matter. games like HL and Doom did.
2. Mario 64 = best launch game ever.
