I don't understand how people felt so disappointed by it. The open field in Hyrule was so beautiful, and the horse combat added something new to the series. I admit that the arching on the horse could've been so much better if they left Link in third person, but it still wasn't bad.
The game was more action oriented, and the Cave of Ordeals gave a good challenge. Fighting the three Dark Nuts was easily the hardest combat part in all of the 3D games. On top of that, some of the moves were really useful and added something to the combat. Fighting the moblins in the rundown town was a memorable moment. I loved the arching in the game.
The locations/areas/places/levels in the game were all wonderful. It really gave a cinematic field. The world was much bigger than Ocarina of Time, and the design seemed more... inspired. Ocarina of Time had some pretty awesome towns, but I felt some of them crammed together compared to Twilight Princess.
Twilight Princess had easy bosses and easy puzzles, but they were still fun. The game was long, and some of the wolf parts were repetitive. But the game was also more cinematic, and Zelda wasn't a total ditz in this one.
Twilight Princess definitely had its flaws, but I thought it was an overall solid experienc that gets more hate than it deserves. I admit that I was not really anticipating it as much as some other people here because I wasn't a big Zelda fan at the time, but I still don't see how anyone could possibly mark it as the worst 3D game. That award clearly goes to Phantom Hourglass. Twilight Princess was a fun-filled adventure, and when you get done to it, it was a glorified version of Ocarina of Time, which was good enough for me. It had tons of variety in its locations, and there were plenty of sidequests to do after you were done with the game.
Why is there so much hate for such an excellent game?
